Revisado: 06-27-24
The story of Erin Solstice is over now. The author got bored with her I guess. if you want to skip the parts without the character you listened for then skip the book.

good but jumps around a lot
Revisado: 09-09-21
voicing was good, story was good but sometimes it feels like there's too much going on. I would have loved to read just the story of my fave character but it just keeps moving around. There's just enough plot to get you interested in a character and then it jumps to something else.

great book production poor
Revisado: 06-12-21
michael manning and Tim Reynolds continue to impress. the edit is weird though there are cuts to different audio samples that are jarring and lessen the immersion. all and all still a 5 star book.

There are tales of Middle-earth from times long before The Lord of the Rings. The story told in this book is set in the great country that lay beyond the Grey Havens in the West: lands where Treebeard once walked, but which were drowned in the great cataclysm that ended the First Age of the World.

not what I hoped
Revisado: 05-28-18
I was looking for a story after finishing Rob Inglis's performance of the Lord of the rings trilogy and this one was disappointing in every way. The narration is rough with not enough care or emphasis put on names so they easily become garbled. The story is a mess like a rough draft without any of that immersive poetic style you associate with Tolkien's Hobbit stories.

Historia
The Two Towers is the second volume of J.R.R. Tolkien's epic saga, The Lord of the Rings. The Fellowship has been forced to split up. Frodo and Sam must continue alone towards Mount Doom, where the One Ring must be destroyed. Meanwhile, at Helm’s Deep and Isengard, the first great battles of the War of the Ring take shape. In this splendid, unabridged audio production of Tolkien’s great work, all the inhabitants of a magical universe - hobbits, elves, and wizards - spring to life. Rob Inglis’ narration has been praised as a masterpiece of audio.

Historia
The Return of the King is the towering climax to J. R. R. Tolkien’s trilogy that tells the saga of the hobbits of Middle-earth and the great War of the Rings. In this concluding volume, Frodo and Sam make a terrible journey to the heart of the Land of the Shadow in a final reckoning with the power of Sauron. In addition to narrating the prose passages, Rob Inglis sings the trilogy’s songs and poems a capella, using melodies composed by Inglis and Claudia Howard, the Recorded Books studio director.

much love rob
Revisado: 05-28-18
after finishing the entire series I can say that the Rob Inglis version is probably the best version of the Lord of the rings audiobooks out there. I still sing his rendition of Tom bombadil's songs. haha buying this entire series is worth it just for that. while many narrators have a hard time with tolkiens poetic style and songs worked into the storytelling Rob leverages it into an even more immersive experience.
