Historia
What do we do with the disruption, disorientation, and devastation of loss? How do we survive unpredictable grief, ongoing suffering, and the questions about God that happen in the dark nights of our lives? In What We Find in the Dark, author and pastor Aubrey Sampson writes through the illness and death of her best friend, offering raw, real, and fought-for spiritual wisdom and practical insights for loss, grief, and doubt. What We Find in the Dark not only helps us locate ourselves on the journey of loss but gives honesty, hope, and direction for what’s ahead.

Honesty in Grief
Revisado: 05-05-25
Ms. Sampson holds nothing back in this journey through personal grief and trauma in what appears to be the abandonment of God. Her walk through the dark night of the soul reflected my own when my father passed, asking the same questions, wondering the same thoughts, wishing the same wishes. Where is God in the darkest of times? Why doesn't he seem to hear us? Why is he allowing me to go through this? Will my faith survive?
Honest and heartfelt, brutal and touching, Ms Sampson has a message for those going through or having gone through these times. A message of friendship, hope, reflection and love.

Historia
Nobody remembers how the Causality War started. Really, there's no-one to remember and nothing for them to remember if there were; that's sort of the point. We were time warriors and we broke time. I was the one who ended it. Ended the fighting, tidied up the damage as much as I could. Then I came here, to the end of it all, and gave myself a mission: to never let it happen again.

Unique, funny and engaging!

Wonderful short story of a time-warrior at the end of all things. Dripping with sardonic narration by the author, this is a quick but entirely enjoyable tale that I didn't want to stop once started. Perfect for a rainy afternoon or a quiet evening.

If the past is prologue - what if the prologue never happened? When a team of scientists attempts to rewrite history, the story of the present turns out to have an ending they didn’t see coming. Over and over.

Scary good...

I love time travel stories and this short one doesn't disappoint. I found myself rewinding and replaying it many times just to make sure I heard it right. As always, love Ray Porter as the narrator and Dennis' "straight-forward" yet twisting hooks never cease to please. It's like Christopher Nolan, but I can understand the voices!

Historia
There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

I just had to write a review for this book...
Revisado: 12-20-17
Where does 14 rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This is, by far, one of my favorite books to listen to yet. Ray Porter, whom I loved in the Bobiverse series, does a wonderful job in breathing life in all of the different characters of this story.
What other book might you compare 14 to and why?
I have not read a story like 14 before. It felt like JJ Abrams and Stephen King had a bastard child that got raised by David Wong. A fantastic, break-neck-paced book filled with mystery, horror, sci-fi elements and more.
Have you listened to any of Ray Porter’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have listened to three other of Ray Porter's narrations, all within the Bob-i-verse series and this was is on par with them. Great characterization and differentiation between the characters in the story.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Some doors are better left closed.
Any additional comments?
One of my favorite books of 2017! My first Peter Clines book and I immediately bought "The Fold" after I finished it.
