Historia
A successful film professor and podcaster, Bodie Kane is content to forget her past—the family tragedy that marred her adolescence, her four largely miserable years at a New Hampshire boarding school, and the murder of her former roommate, Thalia Keith, in the spring of their senior year. Though the circumstances surrounding Thalia’s death and the conviction of the school’s athletic trainer, Omar Evans, are hotly debated online, Bodie prefers—needs—to let sleeping dogs lie.

Disliked
Revisado: 10-06-24
I loved the author’s book The Great Believers so I jumped at the chance to get this book and audiobook. I cannot get interested in the story at all. I’ve spent too much time on it and am going to stop listening. I find the performer a bad choice for this book - not compelling , doesn’t draw listener in and shows no emotion. I regret this purchase.

Historia
Washington, DC, 1950. Everyone keeps to themselves at Briarwood House, a down-at-the-heels all-female boardinghouse in the heart of the nation’s capital where secrets hide behind white picket fences. But when the lovely, mysterious widow Grace March moves into the attic room, she draws her oddball collection of neighbors into unlikely friendship. Grace’s weekly attic-room dinner parties and window-brewed sun tea become a healing balm on all their lives, but she hides a terrible secret of her own.

Disappointed
Revisado: 07-22-24
I listened to first chapter. It was great! I was SO sorry to realize it’s not whispersync ready so I can’t sync with ebook as I read - which is my favorite way to listen/read, I don’t do it often but I was looking forward to doing that with this one, I usually check before I buy to make sure it is ready for that but since the book is so new and would be so popular I didn’t check, my mistake. If the chapters were shorter I could have just figured out where I was but these are long chapter. wonder why they didn’t make it work? I returned the audiobook.

Impossible to listen to
Revisado: 10-20-22
I regret buying this book. The content of the stories is great. However, because it’s not divided by chapters (the way the actual book is) it’s impossible to go to a specific story. I want to access certain stories at a certain time, Having to keep trying to find what I want makes this completely useless to me, if I’d know, I never would have bought it. Because I didn’t buy it with audible credits, it’s not eligible for a refund. I haven’t even listed to the whole thing and doubt I will. Buyers beware!
