Historia
When Viola Carroll was presumed dead at Waterloo she took the opportunity to live, at last, as herself. But freedom does not come without a price, and Viola paid for hers with the loss of her wealth, her title, and her closest companion, Justin de Vere, the Duke of Gracewood. Only when their families reconnect, years after the war, does Viola learn how deep that loss truly was. Shattered without her, Gracewood has retreated so far into grief that Viola barely recognizes her old friend in the lonely, brooding man he has become.

Historia
Tamsin has always been safe behind the walls of her sanctuary. Safe enough to yearn for a glimpse of the world beyond. But with the Viking threat looming, even her secretive kingdom must open its gates to invite allies. And she gets far more than a glimpse. The three lords of Dublin are on the hunt for women of her kind. Thrain Mordsson, youngest of the three and bent on a personal vendetta, doesn't take much stock in the ancient prophecies. He marches into battle for the glory rather than the spoils.

A beautiful reflection of humanity and our connection with wildlife.
Revisado: 09-07-24
This book was beyond what I had bargained for. It examines the life and times of this wondrous sentient being, his human family that saved him, and his connections with the world around him. Beautifully written. It truly feels like he is telling you his life story. The book shows how our bonds with family and friends last forever.
Most importantly this book shows how the impact of humans (good or bad) truly impacts the lives of the animals in this world we all share.
Such an amazing read.

Seeds: Polly has an idea that she can't stop thinking about, one that involves changing a few things about herself. She's setting her sights on a more glamorous life, but it's going to take all of her focus. At least that way she won't have to watch her friends moving so far ahead. Roots: Jo is spending the summer at her family's beach house, working as a busgirl and bonding with the older, cooler girls she'll see at high school come September. She didn't count on a brief fling with a cute boy changing her entire summer.

A little bit odd…
Revisado: 06-24-24
It feels odd for this to be put as if it is a book within “The Sisterhood”. I do appreciate that it exists in the same world. The little connections are fun. However, it feels kind of odd to be put within the series. Seems like it could’ve been a stand alone, but advertised as within the same world.
It’s also a bit sad that the author hasn’t came back to these girls and written anymore about them. This was written in 2009, and I am reading this in 2024.
Also, not the authors fault at all- but the sound at the start of the new chapters is awful!

Historia
In June 2021, the whole world was listening as Britney Spears spoke in open court. The impact of sharing her voice—her truth—was undeniable, and it changed the course of her life and the lives of countless others. The Woman in Me reveals for the first time her incredible journey—and the strength at the core of one of the greatest performers in pop music history. Written with remarkable candor and humor, Spears’s groundbreaking book illuminates the enduring power of music and love—and the importance of a woman telling her own story, on her own terms, at last.

I’ve become a fan
Revisado: 10-27-23
If you had told me a few years ago that I would purchase and read Britney's memoir, I wouldn't have believed you. There would’ve been some laughter also.
To be honest, I've never had been a huge Britney fan. I enjoyed some of her music, but that was it. I don't think I've ever even owned a single one of her CD's. (Glad I didn't now, as the money would have just gone to her horrific family!)
Not only did I purchase this memoir, but I ate it up ferociously in one day.
The way Britney has been treated over the years by her own family and their lackeys is cruel, revolting, appalling, heinous, and disrespectful.
Her family and others that played parts in this cruelty deserve the same kind of "care" that they gave her.
Britney owes the world
NOTHING at this point. No more concerts, albums, songs, or appearances. Hell, not even a TikTok or an instagram update. She owes us nothing. She deserves to spend the rest of her life doing whatever the hell she wants, whenever the hell she wants, with whom ever the hell she wants. Let's allow her to live her life for herself now. She is owed that.
Now that I am learning just how brave and strong Britney has been/still is, I respect the hell out of her.
There's not many people that could've lived through what she has been through, and made it out the other side.
Now, I can say I am a fan of Britney.
This memoir was beautifully written. Britney was so brave and honest with the world. Sharing her truth with us all. I truly hope that writing this and putting it out into the world has been cathartic, and is helping her heal.
(Also, major respect to Michelle Williams. Her reading of this was impeccable. Probably the closest thing to having Britney read it herself.)
I truly hope that Britney is able to find love and happiness.

Historia
This week, in Earlville, Iowa, problems enter the marriage of a farm couple, leading to cheating, and many hurt feelings. Tensions simmer, under the surface, and this all ends with someone having a large corn rake stuck in their back, and the spouse claiming that it they must have suffered an awful accident. The problem is, the evidence says otherwise. Also, weird behavior, a crazy 911 call, and even crazier internet searches lead to a conviction... but will it stand??Along the way, we find out that there isn't a lot of "rockin'" in this area, that no matter what your problems may be, the hogs...

Always a joy to listen to you two
Revisado: 09-13-23
I always love the farm related stories. A) because I grew up on my families few hundred acre farm. So I’ve got a vast knowledge base of farming. B) because listening to you two talking about farming is hilarious. Also, I love it when you talk about fairs!
- In my opinion- If you wanted to kill someone on a farm, there’s a million ways to do it that would’ve looked more like an accident then this.
-Also side note… Depending on how new the tractors are/ how much farmer is willing to spend, there are tractors these days that do basically drive themselves. With the right program, You use an iPad or laptop to map the field you will be working. Then set it to what will be happening (planting, harvesting, etc) it’s like a roomba. You don’t have to even touch the steering wheel till you make turns. It’s really amazing.
Love you guys, your shows are always so entertaining!
Due to health issues I am basically house bound, so I can’t ever see you guys live. So I absolutely love that you have the live shows! The only thing that would be better is if you did more then one live show a year! Please!

This week, in Dumfries, Virginia, the disappearance of a young boy, from his neighborhood produces an underwhelming police response, and the loss of vital evidence that allows an obvious monster to continue to roam the streets. This results in him, unsurprising doing it again. But this time, it's much worse. He's had the time to arrange his sick fantasies, and plan out something truly awful. And he says there's more... Will he finally be held accountable??Along the way, we find out that reggae & wine probably go very well together, that some police departments didn't know that dogs can smell ...

Historia
I was born and broken in Birkenhead, abused from infancy by a network of every kind of pervert from ‘thinks it’s love’ to ‘show it hurts’. I was unwanted, beaten, sold, swapped, photographed, filmed, left for dead, corrupted, blamed, betrayed, ignored and orphaned. But I was also born with a fire inside me. I call it my Phoenix Fire. I am no victim—that word only describes what happened to me. Nor am I a survivor because that implies I am over it. I am a Phoenix—a work in progress. This is my story....

Even though this book shows you the worst of humanity, it also shows you how to have the strength to rise from the ashes. This was a hard journey to listen to, I can’t even imagine how hard it was for the author to live. She is truly an amazing woman!
