Historia
Trading the popular but inaccurate Western perspective of the Bible for the context in which Jesus actually ministered 2,000 years ago, author Robby Gallaty reveals the fascinating Hebraic culture, customs, and nuances many Christians have never experienced or learned about. He works from the premise that we can't truly appreciate the New Testament unless we understand the Old Testament.

Draw Jesus nearer
Revisado: 07-14-21
I loved listening while driving long distances. I felt so emotional when getting to know Jesus better. Now I feel braver to draw closer to God. Adam Verner performance, exceptional!

Revisado: 07-05-21
I prayed for truth. Now I pray for wisdom. Compelling thoughts were presented. Reasoned suggestions were made. Now I believe I can read the Bible for what it is, eyes wide open, ears tuned. I recommend this book to anyone who has wanted to read the Bible beginning to end in 72 hours.

Historia
What was so special about the Tyndale Bible? How does it sound to us today? The first text of the Bible to be printed in English was the New Testament of William Tyndale, published in 1525-6. Its repercussions lasted for almost a century, stimulated by the religious intolerances of the age, and Tyndale's influence can be seen in most of the Bible translations over the next 100 years, not least in the language of the King James Bible of 1611 - as this recording of Saint Matthew’s Gospel in the pronunciation of Tyndale’s own time makes vividly clear.

Matthew's Bible
Revisado: 10-31-19
I thought this was the Matthew's Bible, 1537 edition, New Testament portion... It was only the Book of Matthew from Tyndale Bible, 1526 edition. Awe, I wish for more; the entire New Testament.
David Crystal reading made the word come alive. I yearn for more.

Historia
Written at the request of Charles Dickens, North and South is a book about rebellion that poses fundamental questions about the nature of social authority and obedience. Gaskell expertly blends individual feeling with social concern and her heroine, Margaret Hale, is one of the most original creations of Victorian literature. When Margaret Hale's father leaves the Church in a crisis of conscience she is forced to leave her comfortable home in the tranquil countryside of Hampshire....

Retitle It
Revisado: 08-26-18
The title alone prevented me from starting this novel. I was relieved it wasn't about the civil war. Further, it was a pleasant surprise the setting was during the industrial revolution.
I liked that the writing prose complimented the culture and times. The author writes for the joy of writing and patiently stepping through lives of people and times gone by.
This book is recommended to those in no hurry to accomplish anything. The length of the novel will help you calmly complete any number of household projects.

Living history
Revisado: 08-07-18
I, Eliza Hamilton is a story that should be told. I enjoyed the woman's perspective of early politics through her husband's eyes, although, it was a modern perspective. I wish I could have sensed a more authentic Eliza Hamilton. I am left wondering, does political gaming never change; only the players change?

hmmmm
Revisado: 05-12-18
Predictable throughout. Lance was far too dramatic for my taste. Erin had a great melodic voice but character displayed little power, even after being independent for years, building a business ground up. No wonder women are described by men as needy. Powerful women can get help from men without whimpering weakness and indecision. Plane crash 'after events' were believable. I would have liked to see more detail in the landscape, feel the cold, hear the silence, see the darkness, etc.

Gripping part 2
Revisado: 05-10-18
Gripping story. I had to take breaks just to get through it. Soppy, in a believable way, perhaps in a necessary way for the healing to be believed. Definitely worth reading. Part 1 and Part 2 should be combined into one novel. Anthony's voice was more resolute in Part 2. Jennifer's voice was a delight throughout.

Gripping
Revisado: 05-09-18
The story is gripping from start to finish. Jennifer Stark brings Eden to life. Jennifer's voice and readings make her a major star. Anthony Haden Solerno's voice was distracting for me. Too bad, this book could have been a favorite of mine.

Historia
Will Tawera doesn't do commitment, except on the rugby field. Moving to Las Vegas to become a kicker for the NFL would be a big change from New Zealand rugby, but then, he's ready for a change. And when he's asked to do a little modeling on the side? Thousands of dollars to hold a beautiful blonde while looking dark, dangerous, tattooed, and Maori? He could do that.

Claire Bocking makes these novels delightful. Rosalind James' written tender moments seem so real. Although, I did catch myself perplexed or laughing out loud a couple times. Maybe a bit more editing will keep audiences coming back for more.
