but the author and the Mc judges the world as awful. then in their high and mighty point of view. extorted refugees of a genocide and makes people trade their soul for a few trees he benefits from. all the while he's so concerned about people getting things for free

at first glance it looked like something I'd pass on. I kind of got this one to pass time quickly became obsessed.

it does the lived in comic hero world right. comic worlds tend to easily hit a point where it draws a comparison to the ones you know(this one feels like DC, this one feels like marvel, and that one feels like etc). no matter what when you walk in you'll think that and the challenge is can the book break through. max answered it.

it twists the loop. loop stories always brings the fear of how well can you be told the same story over and over yet still keep your attention. max uses it like a tool and not just some small hook. your understanding of events and characters adjust like you're meeting a real person and it's great.

all this to say that its worth your time. I've listened to the series twice and it still feels so good. I hope you give it a chance
