5th book in the series
Revisado: 10-01-23
I am reading/listening to Horus Hersey books and audiobooks in order. I quickly devoured and enjoyed the first 4. Then I feel like I hit a speed bump with this. The first half of the book just didn’t resonate with me. Perhaps, it was my personality or perhaps it was my mood but I found it a slog. The second half of the book greatly improved and I am glad I stuck with it.

A.I. product
Revisado: 08-22-23
I believe this was written and definitively narrated by A.I. I have a broad background in these areas. Nice try audible but if I wanted A.I. content and narration, I would do myself. I would like my money back.

The Overlords appeared suddenly over every city - intellectually, technologically, and militarily superior to humankind. Benevolent, they made few demands: unify earth, eliminate poverty, and end war. With little rebellion, humankind agreed, and a golden age began.

Historia
Frank Herbert's Dune is one of the grandest epics in the annals of imaginative literature. Now Herbert's son, Brian, working with Kevin J. Anderson and using Frank Herbert's own notes, reveals a pivotal epoch in the history of the Dune universe: the Butlerian Jihad, the war that was fought ten thousand years before the events of Dune - the war in which humans wrested their freedom from "thinking machines."
