Historia
Being part of the Midwest Pack isn't easy - especially now. My life has never been simple - and it only keeps getting more complicated. The Alphas, Ethan, and several key players in the otherworld go missing, thrusting me into the position of Elite Alpha and tasking me with finding them. The list of suspects grows as I realize that mating with Ethan has caused allies to become enemies. Will I locate the missing in time or will I be the last Alpha standing?

Self righteous obnoxious lead character
Revisado: 01-21-25
Skylar Brooks is a self righteous judgmental slow witted reckless lead character. I understand it drives the storyline but most the time she makes me want to have her personally experience the suffering her actions inflict upon others. I selected this months ago because the narrator puts me to sleep. Finally decided to listen and it would have been better to leave it on a low volume for background to sleep

Historia
A queen now in exile as a traitor, Lara has watched Ithicana be conquered by her own father, helpless to do anything to stop the destruction. But when she learns her husband, Aren, has been captured in battle, Lara knows there is only one reason her father is keeping him alive: as bait for his traitorous daughter. And it is bait she fully intends to take. Risking her life to the Tempest Seas, Lara returns to Ithicana with a plan not only to free its king, but for liberating the Bridge Kingdom from her father’s clutches using his own weapons: the sisters whose lives she spared.

The music between chapters is ANNOYING
Revisado: 11-11-24
It's a basic storyline. Good escapism to listen to while doing chores or commuting. Female action heroine. But so sick of main characters having blue and green eyes. So effing trite.

Rushed. Missing critical pieces. Let Down
Revisado: 07-04-24
After eagerly anticipating this book, it was such a huge disappointment. The introduction of new characters was great yet pandering. Plot twist seem to be pandering again the climax if you blinked, you missed it. The epilogue left things mushy. I really loved her first two books and wanted to love this one but regretted buying it, Also the change of narrators really took away from the book,,even if it was by one of my favorite performers

Historia
Thelonious "Monk" Ellison's writing career has bottomed out: his latest manuscript has been rejected by seventeen publishers, which stings all the more because his previous novels have been "critically acclaimed." He seethes on the sidelines of the literary establishment as he watches the meteoric success of We's Lives in Da Ghetto, a first novel by a woman who once visited "some relatives in Harlem for a couple of days."

Seriously funny and equally sad
Revisado: 01-03-24
Since when does being educated make you "not really black?" If you've ever had a conversation about all the annoying tropes that drive you crazy, here's your book. The racial disconnect is on full display. I love his digressions and "conversations" and how they give depth. The narrator was perfect. His inflections were spot on with a friend of mine equally as educated as Monk, it was as if he or any number of others from that world were speaking.

When Kate wins an item at her children’s elementary school auction - an all-inclusive trip to SeaView at Sandpiper Bay - she thinks it’s just what her family needs after a decade of career disappointments and a marriage on its last legs. She has no reason to believe that said trip is a Fyre Festival-level fraud and, in fact, the catalyst to her unraveling. But it is. Oh, but it is.

Captures the real Sandpiper Bay
Revisado: 12-06-23
Having been to the very real Sandpiper Bay resort on the brackish St Lucie river from its glory days to its demise, it's the perfect setting for a horrible vacation. She just left out the mosquitoes, flying roaches, snakes and days you can't access the river because of poor water quality.
Many of us have friends we feel profited from our ideas, abandoned us for the richer or cooler person and relationships that become stagnant so we can identify with her journey.

Historia
It's nearly Christmas, Julia Devine's favourite time of the year. She's just programmed a wonderful lead into the holidays at Sunny Street Cinema, which leaves her plenty of time to worry about going home to Cumbria for Christmas. Her mum and stepdad are fine, but the thought of spending another holiday with her awful stepsister Becca is enough to make a Scrooge out of anyone. When Becca calls to let her know about the dreamy pilot she's bringing to Christmas lunch, Julia finally snaps and does something very silly.

Overplayed tropes
Revisado: 10-21-23
The only thing worse than April Frost's character is the high pitched breathy narration. Too many overwritten overacted characters. Not certain who the audience is. Storyline is YA romance, sex scenes are soft porn.

I can't get past the mispronunciation and bad accent
Revisado: 08-27-23
Hard hearing my family names mispronounced especially since one is the last name of the main characters. Like nails on a chalkboard. Places mispronounced, areas misrepresented. Please get someone who knows the Louisiana Creole/Cajun pronunciations to narrate the books. I can't comment much on the storyline as I even though I try get past the annoying accent and errors. Better things to do with my time. Maybe if the storyline was unfamiliar but it's not.

Finally a book to thoroughly enjoy!!
Revisado: 08-25-23
Well written and read. Believable story lines with women who aren't dumbed down. (really is a lot of that out there sheesh). With the exception of a few fashion misses that southerners of a certain class would never commit it was point on. Can't say much about the story without foreshadowing. So enjoys!!
