No cure for FM?
Revisado: 12-14-24
According to the book, there is no cure for FM, and thus it focuses on pain management and general advice. However, after learning about Pain Reprocessing Therapy from other books, there is a way to heal from FM... Even if it's not technically "a cure" it is order of magnitudes better than "learning to live with the pain".

Historia
From back pain to migraines, arthritis and sciatica, over 1.2 billion people worldwide suffer from regular or chronic pain, 28 million in the UK alone. It's a global epidemic that regularly resists treatment and can totally derail people's lives. But it doesn't have to be this way. This is the revolutionary message from psychotherapist Alan Gordon who, frustrated by the lack of effective treatment for his own debilitating pain, developed a highly successful approach to eliminating symptoms without surgery or medication, offering a viable and drug-free alternative to existing methods.

Historia
Every investment plan under the sun is, at best, an informed speculation of what may happen in the future, based on a systematic extrapolation from the known past. Same as Ever reverses the process, inviting us to identify the many things that never, ever change. With his usual elan, Morgan Housel presents a master class on optimizing risk, seizing opportunity, and living your best life. Through a sequence of engaging stories and pithy examples, he shows how we can use our newfound grasp of the unchanging to see around corners.

Full of Wisdom - However...
Revisado: 12-16-23
However, I would not title this book "Same as Ever".
While it is indeed packed with wisdom which was rightfully relevant both 100 years ago and 100 years in the future (hence, the title), this title can be true for many books about human behavior. For example, a book about people falling in love and breaking up could easily also be named Same as Ever. There were some topics I expected in the book which were absent:
The lindy effect - was not deliberately addressed but was kind of refuted through examples from evolution... How could the lindy effect not even be mentioned as it is literally connected to the idea of things that last...
War was addressed - but not closely enough. He didn't try to answer if there always be war. Is war also "Same as Ever"?
Will people always eat meat?
Racism?
Corruption in Politics?
Was expecting these topics...
Still, will give five stars for wisdom packed extremely well and with a lot of compassion as well...
