Everything I like - rich people and their fabulous lifestyles, craziness, and murder! Well done! Couldn’t put it down! Oh and a narrator with an English accent- the cherry on top!

Historia
Full of thrilling and unexpected connections among history, psychology, economics, neuroscience, and more, Selfie is an unforgettable book that makes sense of who we have become. Ranging from Ancient Greece, through the Christian Middle Ages, to the self-esteem evangelists of 1980s California, the rise of the "selfie" generation, and the era of hyper-individualism in which we live now, Selfie tells the epic tale of the person we all know so intimately - because it's us.

ARRGH! The Narration!!!
Revisado: 11-30-23
I am very enamored with the topic and am going to try and make it through but this might be the worst narration I have ever heard. I'm trying to listen to it on 1.5 speed to help, but it is sooooo robotic. I'm very surprised more reviewers have not mentioned it. It really is terrible.

Great Premise, but....
Revisado: 06-09-23
Loved the idea of this book, and even liked the characters. Then it became utterly unbelievable and I quit listening. Characters knowing things there was no way they could have, ridiculously impossible cover-ups, bah.

SAVE YOURSELF!!!
Revisado: 02-25-23
Torturous narration. I've listened to hundreds of audiobooks and can overcome almost any bad narrator by adjusting the speed. This is the worst narration ever!! No inflection - impossible to listen to. I really have no idea if the story is good because this robotic narration is so horrible. I should have listened to the other reviewers, but I like Mary Kubica. Get the printed book - this narrator is beyond bad!!

WOW!!!!!! LOVE!!!
Revisado: 03-28-22
The experience of listening to this was amazing - it makes you wish every audiobook could be such an incredible production. The story is creepy and fascinating and unlike anything I've ever heard. I could not stop listening and was sad when it ended (you know how rare and great those books are!). It's a combination of sci-fi, horror and mystery. I love psychological thrillers and this was right up my alley. Ethereal, mysterious... you will gasp for air when it's done. Thanks, Audible!

Historia
When a young man is found gruesomely murdered in a London houseboat, it triggers questions about three women who knew him. Laura is the troubled one-night-stand last seen in the victim’s home. Carla is his grief-stricken aunt, already mourning the recent death of yet another family member. And Miriam is the nosy neighbor clearly keeping secrets from the police. Three women with separate connections to the victim. Three women who are – for different reasons – simmering with resentment. Who are, whether they know it or not, burning to right the wrongs done to them.

Revisado: 03-28-22
because of the negative reviews, but I'm glad I did. Interesting, offbeat characters and several interwoven stories. It is a bit dark and sad, but there's brightness as well. Engaging with great narration - if you've enjoyed Paula Hawkins (and I have), you'll enjoy this one too.

Where is Michael Robotham??
Revisado: 01-20-22
I love his other books and was so excited to get a new one. I'm almost halfway through and think I've slipped into a coma. I don't care about any of the characters and the story so far is just not that engaging. The mob backstory - zzzzzzzzzzz. I've stopped and listened to two other books that were much more interesting. Come back, Michael! Come back!

Zzzzzzzz...................
Revisado: 01-19-22
I am a huge fan of mysteries and as well as trendy psychological thrillers. But I just can't bear to keep listening to this one - it's too stereotypical . The sappy grandma with the young, hot, bad boy grandson, the PTSD military guy, the harried mom and the abusive surgeon - oh, and the mean mother-in-law. Kill me now - I can't go on. If you're looking for one of those simplistic beach reads - this will probably be right up your alley. If you want something more complex, pass on this one.

Almost Didn't Get - So Glad I Did!!
Revisado: 12-11-21
Several of the reviews I saw were negative, so I almost passed on this one. I love mysteries and thrillers and consider myself pretty tough on authors. I thought this was a terrific story. Vivid writing with several twists that kept me guessing - not at all what I expected -in a good way. Highly recommend and looking forward to more from the author!

Jane Harper Rules!
Revisado: 05-01-21
I have loved every one of Jane Harper's books and can't wait for another! She is a master, not only of mystery, but of place - you feel like you are there. The excellent narration adds to that effect. I swear, I could hear the waves crashing! This is one of those you won't want to end it's so good. Beautiful in imagery, in emotion, and in mystery - you won't regret it - it's actually worth 2 credits!
