Historia
Receptionist Pam Beesly and accountant Angela Martin had very little in common when they toiled together at Scranton’s Dunder Mifflin Paper Company. But, in reality, the two bonded in their very first days on set and, over the nine seasons of the series’ run, built a friendship that transcended the show and continues to this day.

Loved this book. It was great hearing both Jenna and Angela talk about working on The Office and how it would led to their friendship. We Evan got to hear how they started Office Ladies Podcast.

Historia
Barbara Demick's Nothing to Envy follows the lives of six North Koreans over fifteen years - a chaotic period that saw the death of Kim Il-sung and the unchallenged rise to power of his son, Kim Jong-il, and the devastation of a far-ranging famine that killed one-fifth of the population. Taking us into a landscape never before seen, Demick brings to life what it means to be an average Korean citizen, living under the most repressive totalitarian regime today.

A fascinating yet somber book about daily life in North Korea. A good story for anyone looking to learn about the country and the people who ultimately choose to escape to freedom.

Historia
Once described by The Washington Post as "the most interesting mayor you've never heard of", Pete Buttigieg, the 36-year-old Democratic mayor of South Bend, Indiana, has improbably emerged as one of the nation's most visionary politicians. First elected in 2011, Buttigieg left a successful business career to move back to his hometown, previously tagged by Newsweek as a "dying city", and transformed it into a shining model of urban reinvention.

A Great Book From A New Comer To National Politics
Revisado: 10-31-19
When I first heard of Pete Buttigieg it was when he launched his campaign for president. I didn’t give his campaign much attention until I heard his Pod Save America interview. Since then however, I have gotten to know him both through his campaign and this book. Pete’s book explains how his time as has mayor has helped contribute to South Bends resurgence and how it can serve as a blue print as America as a whole. It also tells his compelling life story and how it has shaped him as a elected official. Regardless of how the Democratic primary might play out next year and how far his campaign goes Pete Buttigieg’s time in national politics has only just begun. Pete is a presidential candidate I would gladly vote for and whose political career I look forward to following from this point on.

Historia
Over the course of more than three decades as an American diplomat, William J. Burns played a central role in the most consequential diplomatic episodes of his time - from the bloodless end of the Cold War to the collapse of post-Cold War relations with Putin’s Russia, from post-9/11 tumult in the Middle East to the secret nuclear talks with Iran. In The Back Channel, Burns recounts, with novelistic detail and incisive analysis, some of the seminal moments of his career.

Review
Revisado: 06-05-19
A great book that explains the inner workings of American diplomacy and how it has shaped US foreign policy over the last few decades. It also shows the vital and important role The State Department plays in keeping up and showing how important America’s role in the world is. William Burns does a excellent job in chronicling his years with The State Department and making a case for why the US needs diplomacy. Burns also explains how diplomacy can be made more effective as well as how it can tackle the future foreign problems America faces. A awesome book for anyone interested in U.S foreign policy.
