Loved this!

This was a great book! I love when you think it’s one thing and yet it was something else. The twists in this book were great! By reading the title you may think it’s just another kidnapping story but it was nothing how I expected it. I listened to the audio version and the narrator was excellent. I could vision the whole story as if it was a movie in my head. I will definitely check out other books by this author.

Wow! I listened to this audio non stop! Talk about thrilling! The audio was fantastic. Each character had their own voice and was played perfectly.

What a teaser! I forgot this was a novella and so when it abruptly finished I was confused. I was ready for it to keep going! It is an excellent novella! Going to check out more of this authors books!

Heartbreaking but can’t put it down!

How do you say a book is a five star when it’s about such a dark topic ? But this was a 5 star read and I do feel that people need to know these things happen and we all must be aware of our surroundings and our friends and neighbors ! You never know what is going on. And you if you think anything doesn’t look right report it! God bless these kids. I listened to he audio version and if there’s one thing to critique it’s I had a hard time keeping up with who was who between detectives and social workers so I was a bit confused on that. I think when books have many characters in these departments maybe at first say “DI smith from WPD police department said” etc. especially when many if of us are from the US we don’t always understand what DI means etc. but that’s just a minor issue. I couldn’t stop listening to this book to see what happened. That’s when I know it’s a good book!

Not a thriller but good read.

If your looking for psychological thriller this is not one. It has mental illness but nothing thriller about it. It has triggers for those who have lost a baby-especially to crib death. This story is more about a mother grieving with many things happening in her teenage years. It’s fast paced and doesn’t drag on with unnecessary fillers.

Absolutely fantastic audio!

Omg! Loved the way the author did this audiobook. This is way more fun in audio. I felt like I was watching a movie with all the characters they had narrating. And omg what a cast! All my favorite narrators in one book. This was a fantastic idea! I hope there will be more. The main character....oh em gee! His voice. It’s is the most sexiest voice. I absolutely am in love with Shane. Amd Shane and Andi are the neat duo. After listening to this book, you wish that those two were really together! Their chemistry is off the charts. This book was so fun to hear. Can’t wait to check out the other books!

Where’s the plot?

The only suspense in this book you already know before you even start it from reading the blurb. Otherwise where is this story going? You get from the blurb that Jessica and Jude was it ? (Heck I can’t even remember the the brothers name before he changed it) is that their parents were killed in an accident and so did they. there was a funeral for all 4 family members. Except the brother and sister didn’t die. They faked their deaths and changed their names to Jillian and Jackson. AKA Jack and Jill. They move to homely town in Nebraska living as different identities. They are not to tell a soul. You get all that in the blurb and like first page. So many times I almost gave up this book, but I would go back to my Goodreads app and look up the reviews again and see if maybe I made a mistake and read reviews from a different book. Not likely, but I’m only human so I had a look and nope! I was reading the correct reviews. One reviewer in the top line up called this book“EPIC!!” Really? Epic? I would love to hear that persons thought on how this was Epic. It disappoints me because I think people will just put 5 stars so they don’t hurt anyone’s feelings. We literally don’t get a plot. All we get is Jillians sassy mouth and her need to make guys bleed when she has sex with them. Whether it’s a bite or a scratch. So the whole book is Jillian (aka Jessica) being bossy, crass, and horny. I only decided to finish it because again, looking at the reviews , several said the ending was more or less a draw dropping ending. So I kept listening and then I get to the end and.........NOTHING!. Just a couple little words at the end giving it something to think about. I will say though, the narrator did an excellent job reading this story. I would Recommend the audio version due to one narrator and several characters. When she would change her voice in different POV’s then you knew who the character was. I haven’t decided if I’ll read the next one yet. Definitely won’t right now, which I’m so bummed because I really was exited to start this series.
