Read by the critically acclaimed actress Maggie Gyllenhaal. I enjoyed it and found it interesting, especially her views on the role of women and mental health; however, parts of it felt racist and homophobic.

Interesting story. Performance was pretty good. Recording quality could be a bit better. Episodes on audible are often out of order.

Historia
New York Times best-selling author, comedian, and actor Patton Oswalt shares his entertaining memoir about coming of age as a performer and writer in the late '90s while obsessively watching classic films at the legendary New Beverly Cinema in Los Angeles. Between 1995 and 1999, Patton Oswalt lived with an unshakeable addiction. It wasn't drugs, alcohol, or sex. It was film.

Historia
For the last several years, Penn and Kim Holderness of The Holderness Family have done the hard maintenance and the research to learn how to fight better. With the help of their marriage coach Dr. Christopher Edmonston, they break down their biggest (and in some cases, funniest) fights. How did a question about chicken wings turn into a bra fight (no, not a bar fight; a bra fight)? How did a roll of toilet paper lead to tears, resentment, and a stint in the guest bedroom?

Did Not Disappoint
Revisado: 01-28-24
I enjoy their videos and had high hopes for this book. I really enjoyed it and appreciated how much actual therapy and research information was included. It was thoughtful and funny; I LOLed a lot! My only (hopefully constructive) criticism is that I had wished there was more about the importance of dealing with trauma/baggage. Sometimes without this piece it can seem like the advice is to just learn how to navigate your partner better, but that they don't have to do the self work that would make them healthier and easier to engage. This is a small issue, however. The book is great and I recommend it!

Meaningful story and well-read. There seem to be a few minor errors in the recording, but still worth listening to.

Historia
Children are both mesmerizing and frustrating creatures. Raising them requires a patience and resolve that can only be equated to, well, parenting a child. There is nothing quite like it. You look into the round, tear-filled eyes of a child, and you are at a loss for words and ideas on what to do. You can read/listen to every book you could get your hands on in the nine months leading up to their birth.

Needs Work
Revisado: 07-27-22
The story is very good, but production quality is a bit disappointing. There are a lot of commercials. The reader's voice is pleasant, but the performance seems inexperienced. The episodes are also in the wrong order; be sure to go by the chapter numbers rather than the episode numbers.
