Love this book!
Revisado: 12-18-21
I was skeptical at first but I downloaded it because it was on the list of Audible originals one month. Honestly, the first time I listened to it I was not a fan. The performance format can be confusing but I often multitask and get caught up with what I am doing and the book becomes white noise that is in the background and I end up missing a lot of it because I don't pay attention. So I often have to listen to books more than once to hear the whole story. After listening to it a second time I fell in love with this story. It's now one of my favorite Audible originals. Finding a good book that is in that category tends to be hit or miss. I have e archived several of them because after listening to them a few times and hearing the entirety of the story, I just really don't like them. This one is a GEM though!

Don't love the narrator
Revisado: 08-25-19
It's a good story just like all of Deaver's but he ends up with some of the worst narrators I have ever heard. The narrator in this book, isn't a bad narrator. He has a good voice but not for this story. It just sounds off and it gets boring.

Historia
Detective Lincoln Rhyme, the foremost criminalist in the NYPD, is on the hunt for an elusive murderer, the Coffin Dancer. He's a brilliant hitman who changes his appearance even faster than he adds to his trail of victims, only one of whom has lived long enough to offer a clue: The assassin has an eerie tattoo on his arm of the Grim Reaper waltzing with a woman in front of a casket.

Narrator is horrible
Revisado: 06-16-19
I agree with most of the reviews on this book. The Narrator does not do justice to either Deaver's story or his characters. He makes Amelia Sachs sound like a simpering female whiner and Sileto (spelling?) sound like a Rocky knock off. It's upsetting to Deaver fans.

Narrator is awful!!!
Revisado: 06-15-19
The story is what you would expect from a Deaver book but the Narrator just ruins it! He makes characters sound like complete idiots and his voice is downright annoying.

Not the best
Revisado: 04-09-19
The story line was ok but not as riveting as most of Patterson's work. Didn't like the narrator at all. His voice has very little range and most of the characters sound the same. It was hard to stay interested in the story for the whole book.

Historia
For his victims, for their families and for the investigators tasked with finding him, the senselessness and brutality of the Golden State Killer's acts were matched only by the powerlessness they felt at failing to uncover his identity. Then, on April 24, 2018, authorities arrested 72-year-old Joseph James DeAngelo at his home in Citrus Heights, Calif., based on DNA evidence linked to the crimes. Amazingly, it seemed, evil finally had a name. Please note: This work contains descriptions of violent crime and sexual assault and may not be suitable for all listeners.

Kept me spellbound
Revisado: 12-18-18
This is the first real crime audible that kept me interested. I have read several real crime stories that kept me interested but due to the biographical nature of these kinds of books, they don't translate to an audiobook well. This is the exception. I was stuck to my phone the whole book. I loved it,!

Absolutely Loved It!
Revisado: 12-11-18
I was not sure when I started this production that I was going to like it. It had a good rating but it was also offered for free and you know what they say about free stuff. You usually get what you pay for. I am glad to say this is an exception to that adage. The story line is engaging, the cast does an excellent job of drawing the listener into the story and all I kept thinking was, I wish I could have seen it performed live. Definitely download this, you won't be sorry!

Redundant
Revisado: 09-03-18
The story is good overall and the "little black book" premise is interesting but it gets run into the ground a bit. The end is a twister though.
