Would you try another book from Steven Gould and/or Paul Boehmer?

Yes

Any additional comments?

This is a wonderful book, it is my favorite of all of Steve Gould's books. Paul Boehmer's performance is also excellent. However the book or at least my copy which I have tried downloading three times is missing all of chapter 21, and parts of chapters 20, 22 and 23. It is also missing Chapter 24. This was probably an editorial fault, however it earns the book the two star review even though I love the book and thought the performance excellent.

Great book, poor narration

What made the experience of listening to Midst Toil and Tribulation the most enjoyable?

My enjoyment of this book was marred by the narration, Mr. Collins obviously did not bother to listen to any of the previous books in the series and as a result pronounced both place names and proper names differently than the previous narrators. This introduced a repeated jarring note into the narration. An example is the name Nimue. I have always heard it pronounced Ni-mue, Mr. Collins read it as Nim-u-e, I don't know which is correct, but in the previous 5 books of the series and in the books on Arthur that I have listened to it has always been pronounced Ni-mue. This is just one of the many pronunciations that was changed.

The book itself was the best of at least the last three books in the series

Would you listen to another book narrated by Kevin T. Collins?

No, unless it was unavoidable. If Mr. Collins is picking up a series that has already started I strongly suggest that he listen to the previous books in that series or at least ask the author for the preferred pronunciation.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No- Way to long for that

John Ringo writes adventure based fantasy, with lots of action and gore. That is what he is known for, and what his fans expect. This book is no exception and has both action and gore in spades. The most interesting thing about the protagonist is that she is a committed Christian, It makes a nice break from all of the characters that have little or no religion.

In some ways the book reminds me of a D&D campaign based around a cleric, The cleric must be both devout and a true believer in order to recieve heavenly aid.

Mr. Bolen's attempt at a southern accent detracts greatly form this version of a Princess of Mars. After awhile it truly grates on the ears of a southerner born and bred.

Weak Romance

This romance was a severe dissapointment, I could not make a connection with either the male or female lead, The female lead is far to weak-willed to be interesting, and the male lead is an idiot. As a result the book just did not work. This is one of the few books that I was simply unable to finish. I hope that Ms. Jackson's mysteries are a lot better, as most reviewers seem to feel. But for a romance writer there are many better choices. Elizabeth Lowell, Susan Elizabeth Phillips, and Susan Mallery all come immediately to mind, along with a whole galaxy of both Historical and Regency writers.

I am a devoted Weber-phile and have bought all of his books both in Hardcover and here on Audible. I even bought Out of the Dark which was awful. Here is why I said enough, This series has consumed 5 Books, 3000 pages, 150 hours of Audible, and it feels like we may be 1/2 way to the end. Enough already, it's time to end it. Also the current Narrator, Mr. Keating added nothing to the story, He obviously did not listen to the previous books and it showed in the continuity of the narration.

Uneven presentation, you can also here other speakers in the back-ground, very distracting when listening.
