A great slow-burn thriller

Therme has written a great slow-burn thriller, along with probably the best character development of any of his books. He dives deep in the main character's life and psyche, making the reader FEEL the pain ... the danger ... the madness? There were times I really wanted to shout at the protagonist (unusual for me)--which just goes to show how invested I'd become. A recommended listen!

Hunt's survivalist tales are among the very best I've read. In all honesty, however, I have to admit that I haven't read a ton of them, but there is a reason for that: the ones I've tried to read are so absurd as to make it too difficult to suspend my disbelief for the time needed to enjoy the story. Hunt, however, has laid out his books in such a way that I don't have that issue. I don't actually know if it's because the scenario is more realistic or if he's such a good storyteller that any glaring flaws escape my notice. Either way, they are great reads, and Miles Meili MORE than does them justice with his narration. Class A work for both the book and audio!

I absolutely loved this trilogy, both the books and the narration. And I don't usually get weepy over fiction, but I definitely had a lump in my throat when this whole journey wrapped. I highly recommend all three of these books, especially the audio editions. Once you hear Romick read them, you'll be hooked. I can only hope that Booth and Romick will team up again.

This book hits on all cylinders. Content and narration go together perfectly, even better than I anticipated. Which is saying something, as I'm a huge Guidall fan. But he outdoes himself with this. I almost felt like I was listening to Twain himself!

Twain great as always, narration good not great

To be honest, I was expecting a little more from Offerman, who I really like. There's an underlying humor in this book that doesn't come through in the narration. The narration was good, of course. A certain level of professionalism will always be present with anything Offerman does, but I just think it could have been kicked up a notch or two.

This was a really interesting premise, not something I've listened to before. It was great for a departure from my usual fare. I'd give it a solid 4 stars, with an extra star for the narration, which really made the book for me. Good YA listen.
