The narrator was so bad and annoying, I could not finish this book!
Revisado: 09-15-17
It is unfortunate because the book's details seem interesting and I may buy the hard copy. But listening to this narrator is excruciating.

Not a very good book....falls flat!
Revisado: 12-04-15
Any additional comments?
I enjoyed Mr. Rove's Courage and Consequence very much but this one is just simply quite bad. It is rambling, unorganized, flat, and incredibly boring. It is unfortunate because the William McKinley story is an interesting one, as are the political characters of his time.

What disappointed you about Once We Were Brothers?
Self-righteous drival with one of the most annoying and grating narrations ever produced.
Would you ever listen to anything by Ronald H. Balson again?

Historia
In this unique and compelling true-crime story, journalist and author David Yonke presents and analyzes the only case in US history in which a Roman Catholic priest was arrested for the murder of a nun. Father Gerald Robinson of Toledo, whom friends and associates described as a timid and mild-mannered man, was arrested by cold-case detectives in April, 2004, and charged in the brutal slaying of Sister Margaret Ann Pahl 24 years earlier.

Wandering, off topic, unbelievable, manipulative
Revisado: 08-09-15
Any additional comments?
A good portion of the book has nothing to do with the murder but goes on and on about sexual depravity of priests and completely unbelievable stories of "repressed memories" of satanic mass murder and ritualistic sex abuse by family, priests and just about everyone else. The author took advantage of an obviously mentally disturbed woman to go off on a tangent that had nothing to do with the murder.

Historia
On June 6, 1944, the greatest armada in history stood off Normandy and the largest amphibious invasion ever began as 107,000 men aboard 6,000 ships pressed toward the coast. Among them were 14,500 Canadians, who were to land on a five-mile-long stretch of rocky ledges fronted by a dangerously exposed beach. Drawing on personal diaries as well as military records, Juno Beach: Canada's D-Day Victory, June 6, 1944 dramatically depicts Canada's pivotal contribution to the critical Allied battle of World War II.

Important Canadian book read by an illiterate
Revisado: 04-08-15
How did the narrator detract from the book?
The narrator almost forced me to stop listening to the book. For an important book on such a significant Canadian battle of World War II, one would hope that it would be read by a Canadian. However, the narrator was a dim-witted and completely illiterate American who couldn't even correctly pronounce major Canadian cities, let alone any other "big words". Whoever allowed this Audiobook to go forward with this narration should be fired. A complete DISGRACE!!!

Essentialism is more than a time-management strategy or a productivity technique. It is a systematic discipline for discerning what is absolutely essential, then eliminating everything that is not, so we can make the highest possible contribution toward the things that really matter.

Totally unoriginal...don't waste your time...
Revisado: 01-25-15
This is an unoriginal regurgitation of other authors' works. It is conflicting and contradictory. He has copied stories, quotes and content directly from Charles Duhigg's book The Power of Habit. I hope he is getting some of the royalties. McKeown is quite annoying, hard to understand at times, and exceptionally arrogant and unjustly so at that. Save your credit for something that has at least one original thought!
