Historia
Being one of the guys isn't all it's cracked up to be. So when journalist Chastity O'Neill returns to her hometown, she decides it's time to start working on some of those feminine wiles. Two tiny problems: one - she's five feet and 11 inches of rock-solid girl power; two - she's cursed with four alpha-male older brothers. While doing a story on local heroes, she meets a hunky doctor, and things start to look up. Now there's only one problem: Trevor Meade, her first love and the one man she's never quite gotten over....

Awful
Revisado: 01-03-24
I'm shocked so many people gave this book a good rating. The characters are laughable, and the story is far from original.

Historia
One of the most viewed paintings in American history, Custer's Last Fight, copied and distributed by Anheuser-Busch at a rate of more than two million copies a year, was destroyed in a fire at the 7th Cavalry Headquarters in Fort Bliss, Texas, in 1946. Or was it? When Charley Lee Stillwater dies of an apparent heart attack at the Wyoming Home for Soldiers & Sailors, Walt Longmire is called in to try and make sense of a piece of a painting and a Florsheim shoebox containing a million dollars, sending the good sheriff on the trail of a dangerous art heist.

Disappointment
Revisado: 10-01-20
I love, love, love the Longmire series, but this book is soooo boring!!!! I kept falling asleep listening to it. I don't know what happened, but I'm pretty sure you could skip this one altogether and be fine when the next book comes out.

Historia
Sam Hill always saw the world through different eyes. Born with red pupils, he was called “Devil Boy” or Sam “Hell” by his classmates; “God’s will” is what his mother called his ocular albinism. Her words were of little comfort, but Sam persevered. Sam believed it was God who sent Ernie Cantwell, the only African American kid in his class, to be the friend he so desperately needed. And that it was God’s idea for Mickie Kennedy to storm into Our Lady of Mercy like a tornado, uprooting every rule Sam had been taught about boys and girls. Forty years later, Sam, a small-town eye doctor, is no longer certain anything was by design.

Historia
In the latest from Nelson DeMille (author of The Lion's Game), Paul Brenner is called out of CID retirement to investigate the murder 30 years ago of an army lieutenant in Vietnam. Brenner's trip up country, with a beautiful American expatriate for company, will lead him to uncover an explosive, long-buried secret.

horrible
Revisado: 09-22-18
I have listened to about 7 of DeMille's books. They have all been fantastic until now. The book is not about an investigation but about Vietnam. It is 18 hours too long and DeMill's main character Paul Brenner is a carbon copy of John Corey, their professions being the only difference. Paul's love interest is annoying and unlikable. I'm not sure why DeMill casts the same type of characters over and over, but enough is enough.

Travelling back home to Lyrebird Hill, the beautiful bushland property where she grew up with her mother and sister, Ruby begins to remember the year that has been blocked in her memory.

Worth your time
Revisado: 12-16-17
I rarely if ever give 5 stars, but how could I not? This book so tenderly relates a time in our recent past that deserves to be voiced. The characters are relatable, and take hold of our hearts and emotions. In fact, this book is so poignant a hard copy will soon share shelf space beside my other all time favorites.
