Wow, that’s all I can say. Yes it’s an historical novel tied into a love story that really drew me in. This woman who married a widower was the mother to some of the most important early Americans. But more importantly in her own right, she stands as tall or taller as an inspirational role model. most highly recommend it.

What could be better than to have a military adventure book written by a Roman historian. I like the books by others that write historical fiction but Goldsworthy has more than a love and k owl edge of the period - he’s an expert historian. So I highly recommend this and I’m assuming all of his novels.

I’ve also read several of history books and they are also tops. Thank you Mr Goldsworthy for your multifaceted gifts Tom those who live the history of Ancient Rome.

I really found this book offering new perspectives on the HOW did Naziism take root and survive for its 12 year dictatorship. I knew many of those whose lives were summarized in this book but even for those, Evans added additional perspective. And of course some were new to me. For anyone that views the terrors of Nazi Germany as perhaps an historical echo we are currently at risk of repeating, this book will be of interest. The rise of authoritarian governments around the world seems so at odds from the optimism at the turn of this century and Evans helps illuminate our world, as any great historian can. I highly recommend this book.

My first novel by Meltzer but won’t be my last. I really enjoyed the characters, the story and the resolution. I hope it becomes a movie! I highly recommend this book.

I’ve read a lot about Trump, Wall Street as well as politics and history. This book never got going. The narrative was disjointed and I was looking for a summary of the misdeeds, losses and fines paid by DB but it never came. For anyone that reads it, I’d suggest keeping a tally sheet as you go if you want to understand the stats.

Also in terms of the major reveals / I knew all of them before reading the book from reading media.

I really enjoyed this book. I’ve read a lot of World War II history and this has a unique perspective that is Eyeopening and worthwhile.

The boom is written in the form of five interviews and for me it was a page turner that I completed in 24 hours.

I highly recommend this book.

This book is a gift to us from Rachel. Just as with her shows, by “starting a the beginning” and tying the present into past events, one gains perspective. This book is brilliant and I recommend it most highly.

Put in another way, as I’m aging, I realize I won’t be able to read all the books on just my current reading list - but I’d recommend this to everyone no matter how many other books you have on your list - put this one at the top.

Thank you Rachel, you are an American Treasure and I hope we have a happy ending to our current dilemma.

I really enjoyed rereading Tarzan after 60 years. I’d forgotten much of the story and instead recall the Johnny Weissmuller version of my childhood. Burroughs writing style and narrative were excellent and the story flows well. I hadn’t recognized some of the authors prejudices at the time but that are now quite evident. However in spite of those, it is a fast-paced adventure book that’s fun to read from time to time amidst many of the more serious works I read. And yes, I recommend this book.

I absolutely loved this book and I shared the “snail dilemma” with my Business Law course. It’s a timely book and is though provoking and provides an in-depth understanding of the pitfalls of Textualism and Originalism - well beyond one’s typical understanding, perhaps based more on the “political realities” of the matter. Breyer goes behind the scenes and explains how he decided cases, providing excellent insight. I only wish Breyer had been Chief Justice. Breyer is an American Treasure. I highly recommend this book.

An Insightful Look Into Modern Political Evangelicalism

This is an excellent and broad survey of the Evangelical world and its transformation into a politically driven faith. It displays the tragedy in losing the message of Jesus in search of the “idols” of “political power”. All the major players are covered and the impossible dilemma faced by those within the Evangelical church who simply want to profess and practice their religious faith in conflict with the louder and forceful voices of the politically motivated members searching for a “Christian Nationalism”. I wish I could say the book had a “happy ending” although it does end on a positive note. The battle for the soul of Evangelicalism in America will be a long one, trying to reclaim the meaning of Christianity, one soul at a time.

I most highly recommend to all. Those who will most likely reject the author as Woke and an adversary are the ones I believe should most read this book. It’s timely and important.

I’d also suggest watching his interview on Firing Line with Margaret Hoover.
