horrible narration

this is the first time I've had to increase the playback speed listening to an audiobook. The narrator was so slow and sing songy... completely out of character for these books.

Young. Beautiful. Idealistic. Proud. Gigi was raised outside the Andrade clan, but it has left her with an ache she cannot deny. When she's invited to her brothers' weddings, she refuses at first, then changes her mind and attends without telling anyone. She won't let herself love them, but she can't stay away. It's a recipe for disappointment and heartbreak...especially when she throws herself at her brother's best friend, Kane.

narrator is horrible
Revisado: 11-07-20
This was really painful to listen to. I was spoiled by the original narrator, who did a great job with accents and kept voices consistent throughout all the previous books. I will finish it but she certainly makes it less enjoyable.

Everyone in the small town of Denton is searching for Isabelle Coleman, a missing 17-year-old girl. All they've found so far is her phone and another girl they didn't even know was missing. Mute and completely unresponsive to the world around her, it's clear this mysterious girl has been damaged beyond repair. All Detective Josie Quinn can get from her is a name: Ramona. Currently suspended from the force for misconduct, Josie takes matters into her own hands as the name leads her to evidence linking the two girls.

narrator is horrible
Revisado: 08-26-19
Narrator is obvious British and attempting an American accent. Her pronunciations are very distracting and annoying..
anathing instead of anything
et instead of ate
many more.
the most annoying thing was the lack of ennunciation of double consonants.
Dennon instead of Denton.
mounnain instead of mountain
inno instead of into
the story line was fortunately good enough to keep me listening.

Historia
Two days. Fourteen dead. The next victim could be you. The first bullet punches through the windshield of an SUV. A head shot. The driver's death is instantaneous. And it's only the beginning. A sniper along I-20 kills eight and causes a 36 car pileup. Brutal. Efficient. The next morning, the same individual stalks through a grocery store parking lot with a handgun. He takes out six innocent shoppers along with the store's front window before fleeing without a trace.

One chapter completely omitted
Revisado: 06-18-18
Chapter 42 was completely omitted from the narration. Thankfully, I was flipping between kindle and audible and realized the omission. That chapter was pretty crucial... Although the narrator was generally good, the Georgia accents are lacking.

Historia
With courage, grace, and powerful insight, bestselling author Kristin Hannah captures the epic panorama of World War II and illuminates an intimate part of history seldom seen: the women's war. The Nightingale tells the stories of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love, and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France—a heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the durability of women. It is a novel for everyone, a novel for a lifetime.

could not bear to listen any more. Totally uninteresting storyline. I moved on to another book. Narrator's attempts at French accents were atrocious, as well.
