Historia
Sydney Shaw, like every single woman in New York, has terrible luck with dating. She’s seen it all: men who lie in their dating profile, men who stick her with the dinner bill, and worst of all, men who can't shut up about their mothers. But finally, she hits the jackpot. Her new boyfriend is utterly perfect. He's charming, handsome, and works as a doctor at a local hospital. Sydney is swept off her feet. Then the brutal murder of a young woman—the latest in a string of deaths across the coast—confounds police. The primary suspect? A mystery man who dates his victims before he kills them.

Revisado: 11-21-24
I tried, I really did. I had stopped purchasing books by the author because although I think the plots are good, the sophomoric writing style are more geared to the pre-teen set.
The strange lack of contractions in the dialogue made the narration stiff and unnatural.
I had hoped that listening to a story instead of trying to get through it in print might make a difference but sadly it did not
Although I do believe the bad writing affected the narrator’s performance, Rob M needs to not carefully enunciate every “t”. It made the narration difficult to listen to.
With 6 hrs left, I had to abandon ship. I couldn’t take another second.

An incredibly complex plot with many twists and turns that left me counting down the minutes when I could get back to listening. The masterful narration by James Cameron Stewart brought the charachters to life and made this story even more memorable.

Unpopular, but I LOVED this!
Revisado: 06-29-23
I know this isn’t a well-liked Christie book, but I loved it! Audibly gasped at a few moments. It’s not a classic Christie - but super fun. It’s a bit over-the-top and campy, but I love that. So much fun!

Historia
The dentist was found with a blackened hole below his right temple. A pistol lay on the floor near his out flung right hand. Later, one of his patients was found dead from a lethal dose of local anaesthetic. A clear case of murder and suicide. But why would a dentist commit a crime in the middle of a busy day of appointments? A shoe buckle holds the key to the mystery. Now - in the words of the rhyme - can Poirot pick up the sticks and lay them straight?

Fun Twist on Classic Christie
Revisado: 01-31-22
The plot was very fun — still in the vain of classic Christie, but different enough that it doesn’t feel the same as other stories. Hugh Fraser was a fantastic narrator as always. My only issue is that all the characters got a little muddled for me, as there are so many.

Classic Christie, Surprised Me
Revisado: 10-18-21
Another classic Christie! This is my fifth of her books and my fourth Poirot. It doesn’t get talked about as much of some of her more famous Poirot stories, but I loved it! The ultimate ending has me very surprised and it kept me entertained throughout. As always, Hugh Fraser is an AMAZING narrator and keeps me totally engaged! Highly recommend!
