Who Inherits the Earth?
Revisado: 07-01-18
Very imaginative story, a bit slow at the beginning but it earned its 4th star as it went on. I would recommend the read, just be ready to slide back a bit when you stop to clarify. The last 1/3 of the book is my favorite, I couldn't catch my breath. Don't want to add any spoilers. The Narrator has a bit of a hard time with the spread of character voices..

What about the narrators’s performance did you like?
Perfect Narration.!

Historia
William Stoner is born at the end of the 19th century into a dirt-poor Missouri farming family. Sent to the state university to study agronomy, he instead falls in love with English literature and embraces a scholar's life, far different from the hardscrabble existence he has known. And yet as the years pass, Stoner encounters a succession of disappointments.

Even a Mediocre Life can be Well Lived
Revisado: 02-23-18
If you could sum up Stoner in three words, what would they be?
Expectations and choices life
Which character – as performed by Robin Field – was your favorite?
Stoner
Any additional comments?
This is so close to real life. How so much of our life is controlled by the choices and desires of others. Every happy thing was taken from Stoner because of hatred of him by others.

What is Going On!!
Revisado: 04-28-17
Any additional comments?
I love Wil Wheaton but I did not like him as a narrator in the book. He had difficulty adjusting his voice for each character so i never knew who was talking. With the very complex plot that meant being lost most of the time. If I had a paper copy to follow along it might have been fun. This is how my experience was. Others might enjoy it, it is definitely complex scy-fy.

Historia
In the winter of 1952, New England was battered by the most brutal nor’easter in years. As the weather wreaked havoc on land, the freezing Atlantic became a wind-whipped zone of peril, setting the stage for one of the most heroic rescue stories ever lived. On February 18, while the storm raged, two oil tankers, the Pendleton and the Fort Mercer, were in the same horrifying predicament. Built with “dirty steel,” and not prepared to withstand such ferocious seas, both tankers split in two, leaving the dozens of men on board utterly at the Atlantic’s mercy.

The Finest Hours of Listening
Revisado: 03-07-17
Where does The Finest Hours rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Near the VERY TOP
Any additional comments?
I could not listen fast enough. I was out of breath during the storms and rescue. I was angry when the reason the ships split was man's greed. Our hero's are too soon forgotten and man's greed carries on and on. Everyone should ignore the movie and read or listen to this Book.

Historia
Simon Rand's life isn't exactly linear, but he's okay with that. He was older than his mother when they first met, and he's traveled pretty much everywhere the CHRONOS key can take him. Much of his childhood was spent in the 1890s on the Cyrist Farm with his friend, Kiernan Dunne, but summer vacations meant hanging out with his grandfather in the 2020s, training to be Saul Rand's right-hand man, and fixing bits of history to help build Cyrist International.

Historia
Kiernan Dunne abandoned his family ties to help Kate fight the Cyrists, and he's never regretted that for one moment. But he doesn't understand why Kate can't remember that night in 1893 Chicago, when she turned back to face the killer chasing them through the smoky corridors of the World's Fair Hotel. Kate placed the CHRONOS key around his neck and made his eight-year-old self promise to wear it always, and that's a promise Kiernan has never broken.

Timing if Off
Revisado: 03-07-17
What made the experience of listening to Time's Echo the most enjoyable?
This is a 1.5 Novella which is Kiernan Dunn filling in some blanks in the story line.
Who was your favorite character and why?
In this book none they are a family
Have you listened to any of Nick Podehl’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I do not know if I have, but I did not enjoy him. His performance of Kiernan Dunn was off. In the main books Kiernan Dunn has a thick lovely Irish Brogue. You cannot hear it at all in the Novellas read by Nick.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
