I really enjoy listening to sermons from Tim Keller. He has preached on this topic and expands on his teaching here. As Christians it’s hard to admit that we have idols. Keller points out that our hearts are idol factories. Okay, now that we know, what do we do about it? Keller offers real insight into examining our hearts and allowing God to reveal what has captured our hearts and how to surrender to God.

I enjoy listening to Tim Keller’s sermons on the Gospel and Life podcast. It takes a little adjustment to listen to another voice speak Tim’s words. It was so good to hear this intelligent and heartfelt account of how all of the Bible points towards Christmas and how, like the Good News the Bible proclaims, Christmas is a celebration of the goodness of our great God who keeps his promises to us. What a refreshing way to prepare our hearts for Christmas. Take a break from the modern cultural trappings of the season and renew your soul by focusing on the true meaning of Christmas.

I appreciate that this book was written by a Christian and encourages listeners to turn from the lies of diet culture and embrace the person God made each of us to be. However, the author uses a lot of social justice buzzwords that cause me to wonder whether or not I can trust what she is saying. Justice is biblical but God’s justice and our culture’s social justice narrative are not the same. I had to listen a little bit at a time so that I could hear the good things the author was saying without becoming frustrated with the social justice narrative.

I could definitely benefit from listening again. I put the quote, “You are not required to set yourself on fire to keep others warm,” on my Lock Screen. Aundi gently informs listeners that we don’t have to white knuckle it through life. I also learned about the window of tolerance which is helping. If you feel like you have been trying harder for a long time and not getting any better this book may be just what you need.

I listened to and read Alisa’s first book “Another Gospel.” I learned about this book from a webinar where she was interviewed. I was excited to be notified the book had been released. When I hear someone say they are a Christian, rather than getting excited as I used to, I wonder what they mean by that. Childers does a good job explaining how to discern what is true and what isn’t. I appreciate her honesty about her own struggles. That makes her very relatable.

If you enjoy Hallmark movies this book is sure to please. I heard about this book on the podcast “The Isle of Misfits.” The author was interviewed and spoke of her experiences writing novels with Amish characters. It sounded good and I really enjoyed the story. A little romance without all the modern day drama. Characters that are likable and a story set at Christmas time made for a story I looked forward to listening to.

If you need help to start praying, renew your prayer life or courage to pray boldly this book is well worth your time. Batterson started from very humble beginnings and some definite rough patches while remaining faithful in prayer. God answered his prayers in amazing ways. I’m encouraged to pray boldly and see what God does. I enjoy hearing the author narrate because it really brings the stories to life. The person reading experienced what you are hearing. Batterson’s book and his narration are excellent. Well worth your time.

I listened to this book during my morning quiet time and to help me sleep. Prayer can be challenging when life is difficult. This book helped me to connect with God through prayer and scripture. I’m in a challenging season of life and this book has been a blessing. The narrator does a great job. Praying the scriptures is powerful making this book’s content so relevant. Whether you’re going through a struggle or simply want to refresh your prayer life I highly recommend this book.

I read Joni’s autobiography years ago and it’s always great to hear or read what she has to say. My dad had Alzheimer’s and I work in a nursing home memory care unit. I want to know how to answer these tough questions and be equipped to protect the lives of our vulnerable elderly. Joni offered that and helped me to think differently about my own struggles. Joni has a beautiful voice and I really enjoyed listening to what she had to say. Highly recommended!

The author ends the book by saying that Muslims are the largest group of people who need to hear the gospel. We often focus on atheists and other unbelievers but next to Christianity, Islam is the largest religion or belief system. Learning how to share the gospel from a Christian who was once a devout Muslim is a powerful way to learn. I couldn’t stop listening, this book is that good.
