Historia
Considered by many to be Chesterton’s masterpiece, this book declares his comprehensive view of world history as informed by the Incarnation. Retelling man’s story from the very beginning, he shows how all of men’s desires are fulfilled in the person of Christ and Christ’s Church. With his characteristic brilliance and irony, he argues that Christianity is not just a religion to stand beside other religions, for the fact of the Incarnation sets it quite apart.

For me, essential
Revisado: 03-24-23
I first read this fifty years ago. It is one of a handful of books that helped define who I am, who came into view at the right time. It gave me confidence in a greater reality. I have so much affection for it I don’t know if I can be fair in a review. But if for nothing else, enjoy the lucid, original thinker and joyous mind of G.K.

Seeing the present seven decades past.
Revisado: 05-14-22
Lewis melds legend and fantasy to oppose the moral apostasy of progressivism and it’s lust for power. Both are ultimately under the sway of forces outside our corporeal world. The proof of his view, whether or not you accept supernatural attribution, is that much of what he said the bad guys did is the same thing philosophical adherents attempt and do now. Prescient, deep and satisfying. I’ve been reading this book from time to time for fifty years and it gets more spot on each reading. The narration was outstanding.

Legendary Storytelling
Revisado: 04-17-22
Weaving multiple complex themes within a cracker murder mystery, this is a novel in grand style. This is the finest work from a fine author. One of my favorites. I can’t recommend more highly.

Surprisingly good.
Revisado: 04-26-18
While not personally a big fan of mysteries, this was engaging and well performed. Though written from a Christian perspective the author is respectful of all faiths. The story was at turns funny, informative, intriguing and moving. I actually got the book thinking it was a n adaptation or source of the film of the same name with Duvall and Downey Jr. I'm happy now I was mistaken.
