Historia
At long last, Gaius Petreius Ruso and his companion, Tilla, are headed home - to Gaul. Having received a note consisting only of the words "COME HOME!" Ruso has (reluctantly, of course) pulled up stakes and brought Tilla to meet his family. But the reception there is not what Ruso has hoped for: no one will admit to sending for him, and his brother Lucius is hoping he'll leave.

Darius and Tella are like husband and wife instead of master and slave.
Revisado: 02-26-24
I had enjoyed the detective approach in the story. It was interesting how Darius approach the problem in one direction. Tella took a different direction to clear her master's name.

Revisado: 02-01-24
Enjoyed that it had a good amount of twists. I had to go through the whole book to find the murderers. with this input, I plan to read or listen to her other books.

Historia
On April 10, 1970, Hill 927 was occupied by troopers of the Screaming Eagles of the 101st Airborne Division. By July, the activities of the artillery and infantry of Ripcord had caught the attention of the NVA (North Vietnamese Army) and a long and deadly siege ensued. Ripcord was the Screaming Eagles's last chance to do significant damage to the NVA in the A Shau Valley before the division was withdrawn from Vietnam and returned to the US.

A brutal account
Revisado: 05-25-22
Always interested about what went on in Vietnam. My father put in 9 years in that war. It would been helpful to provide maps to visually see the terrain our soldiers were in. But, the information and the accounts were graphic and emotional. A good account of what occurs in a battle.

How should the United States act in the world? Americans cannot decide. Sometimes we burn with righteous anger, launching foreign wars and deposing governments. Then we retreat - until the cycle begins again. No matter how often we debate this question, none of what we say is original. Every argument is a pale shadow of the first and greatest debate, which erupted more than a century ago. Its themes resurface every time Americans argue whether to intervene in a foreign country.

Insight to the True Flag
Revisado: 05-18-21
As one who loves to read history, I had enjoyed the examination of our political practice to for foreign and imperial endeavors. it is definitely not a clean cut affair as history books in schools promotes. The only item I wish to have added in the book is a definitive reason as to what our political leaders wanted to accomplish. There were some given but was skipped over from the 1950s to present. Still, it was good reading.

Historia
From the New York Times best-selling authors of America's First Daughter comes the epic story of Eliza Schuyler Hamilton - a revolutionary woman who, like her new nation, struggled to define herself in the wake of war, betrayal, and tragedy. In this haunting, moving, and beautifully written book, Dray and Kamoie used thousands of letters and original sources to tell Eliza's story as it's never been told before - not just as the wronged wife at the center of a political sex scandal but also as a founding mother who shaped an American legacy in her own right.

Eye opener on Hamilton's endeavors
Revisado: 04-16-21
Although this novel is about Hamilton's wife with her husband, I found it very intriguing on Hamilton's life. The book was very well read. In addition, the information gave me a better understanding of the time period. I found it fascinating the political scandals of yesterday were no different than the political scandals of today. I would highly recommend others to read it.

Liking history, I wanted to know how this book would match up. This book was great. The players did a great job with their voices and made it real. I doubt a movie of this book could match it. Highly recommended people listen to it.

Historia
Four US Navy SEALS departed one clear night in early July 2005 for the mountainous Afghanistan-Pakistan border for a reconnaissance mission. Their task was to document the activity of an al Qaeda leader rumored to have a small army in a Taliban stronghold. Five days later, only one of those Navy SEALS made it out alive. This is the story of the only survivor of Operation Redwing, SEAL team leader Marcus Luttrell, and the extraordinary firefight that led to the largest loss of life in American Navy SEAL history.

True from the heart
Revisado: 04-02-18
I'm a retired vet and from a long line of defender of our nation. My dad was a decorated Vietnam vet, having received the 5th highest decoration in the Air Force. My son was a medic in the Army during the Iraq war. He lost his best friend, there. Hearing this story was hard at times, having to suppress anger and tears. It was not due to writing style but knowing what our fighting soldiers have to go through during war. The author is right about the liberal press. I hope everyone who reads it will do so with open minds. This is a must read.

Battle: The Story of the Bulge, John Toland's first work of military history, recounts the saga of beleaguered American troops as they resisted Hitler's deadly counter offensive in World War II's Battle of the Bulge - and turned it into an Allied victory. It is a gripping work, painstakingly researched and imbued with such vivid detail that listeners will feel as though they themselves witnessed these events. This is a book not to be missed by anyone interested in this tumultuous era of our world's history.

This is the most account I read of this battle. Being a veteran, there were many moments I shed tears during the horrible challenges our soldiers faced. This book gave a more personal account of what happened. This is a "must read" book.
