Jeez…kept me guessing and then had to re-guess it
Revisado: 01-27-25
Oh my gosh. I definitely don’t want to be a spoiler, so let’s just say that when I finished it, I had to rethink every bit of plot. It was crazy and great.

Too scary, too much graphic domestic violence
Revisado: 10-13-24
I thought I would like this, but there is way too much graphic domestic violence. If you are emotionally impacted by such, this book is not for you.

Really unrealistic and stupid
Revisado: 07-26-24
Maybe if you’ve read the entire series, it all makes sense. But if you haven’t, it is just stupid.

Historia
FBI agent Olivia Knight has seen her fair share of shocking and gruesome cases. So much so that she trained herself to expect the unexpected. But then she is called onto a case in the sleepy small town of Beacon Hill. A case involving a brutal stabbing with the words: “Death is inescapable. I am your penance.” Written in blood. Olivia finds herself sleepless and unable to shake off the chilling words of a bloodthirsty killer. After a second victim is found, the case takes another bizarre turn. What are the connections between both victims? What is the killer’s true motive?

Really? So many mental issues?
Revisado: 07-24-24
I generally like Elle Gray books, but this series is ridiculous. Apparently unable to fully develop the plot, at least 1/2 of it ends up about Olivia’s mental state. Really? It makes a mockery of female FBI agents.

Disappointing
Revisado: 10-10-23
I live in Iowa, was raised in a rural community, and am well educated. There were so many inaccurate portrayals of my state, mostly that it made it sound like we were hicks. I don’t remember any of the other books including so many inaccurate stereotypes.
