Historia
Historic levels of polarization, a disaffected and frustrated electorate, and widespread distrust of government, the news media, and traditional political leadership set the stage in 2016 for an unexpected, unlikely, and unprecedented presidential contest. Donald Trump’s campaign speeches and other rhetoric seemed on the surface to be simplistic, repetitive, and disorganized to many. As Demagogue for President shows, Trump’s campaign strategy was anything but simple.

Excellent Analysis
Revisado: 04-12-23
I love that this book gets straight to the point. Right to the specific techniques of persuasive speaking and gives tons of real world examples. Couldn’t put the book down.
The only areas for improvement that you will notice right away:
1) The tons and cadence of the narrator doesn’t match with what is being said. That being said, it helps break down the speeches so you can focus on the rhetorical techniques taught in the book.
2) The author used the word “Demagogue” ad infinitum. I would recommend using a synonym for that word, because it was used multiple times a sentence which made it hard to focus on the message at times.
Overall, this is by far one of the top books on Rhetorical Persuasion and is non-stop. The book focuses entirely in what was said in speeches and interviews and why each technique was the perfect fit for each situation. Really well done!

Historia
You’ve seen it all before. A malicious online rumor costs a company millions. A political sideshow derails the national news cycle and destroys a candidate. Some product or celebrity zooms from total obscurity to viral sensation. What you don’t know is that someone is responsible for all this. Usually, someone like me. I’m a media manipulator. In a world where blogs control and distort the news, my job is to control blogs - as much as any one person can.

How The Media Really Works
Revisado: 12-14-22
Holiday explains how the media plays on our emotions to get clicks and views. To do that they need a never ending supply of shock & awe stories. If none exist that day, something needs to be manufactured as long as it kind of looks real and passes a very loose fact checking system.
Feed the bottom of the Media (blogs and small news sites) with fake information and big media outlets can’t help but give it a quick glance and print it or repost to beat their competitors to the story.
This book provides tons of real world stories that will shock you at just how broken the system is and how easy it is to manage attention. Ignore the reviews talking about the Narration. Listen to the Sample. Holiday speaks just like he does in his YouTube videos and I thought it was perfectly interesting and was easy to follow along.
Who will find this book appealing: People in Public Relations, the Media or Social Media influencers. Talks about the techniques the media uses to capture your attention and influence your emotions. 5 Stars without a doubt!
