Per usual, the narrator is perfection. And I enjoyed the irony of Jo’s search for a narrator for her book! Excellent characterizations all around.

Best Vera so far!

Beautiful performance by Janine birkett. I love those north England accents. I actually did suspect the real murderer early on but saw no motive till it was explained at the end. I wish the tv Vera was as fat, feisty and poorly groomed as is the real Vera in these books.

I have listened to all of Donna Leon’s books available on audio. I enjoy her Brunetti character very much, and her plots. But what makes them come alive is David Colacci’s reading. His beautiful Italian accented English is never overdone, and different for each character.
