The best Discworld book!

Pratchett deftly balances the heavy and macabre moments with his characteristic playful wit and humor. Granny Weatherwax feels a bit under appreciated / overlooked, the smugness of Magpyr family makes an abundantly entertaining villain, and the religious aha moments of the Omnian priest - Mightily Oats were the high points for me in this book. The narration is nothing short of excellent!! Cant go wrong with this audiobook!

Fantastic story with brilliant narration!!

Esk, a young girl, is accidentally granted wizardly powers. The local witch at the Ramtops - Granny Weatherwax, takes Esk under her wing to teach her how to control her new abilities. A series of magical mishaps makes it clear that Esk must go to the Unseen University to be trained by the wizards on how to control her powers. A very interesting journey of Esk and Granny from the Ramtops to Ankh-Morpork for accessing Unseen University then follows… A very engaging tale of the art of the possible vs. traditional rules, brilliantly hidden under a fantastic plot that only Pratchett can conjure up!! Bravo to the narrators - hard to stop listening once you get started!

A brilliantly written book!

I really liked this audiobook, it comes with a pdf of the charts that are referred to during the description of the big cycles in history. What i liked the most is the section on China, the historic perspective that led to current state of US - China relations and Dalio’s view for the future. It is great to listen to such a nuanced perspective about China from one of the greatest investors in the US. This book is well worth a read, if for nothing else, then just to understand current geo-politics. I highly recommend this book!

One rat, popping up here and there, squeaking loudly, and taking a bath in the cream, could be a plague all by himself. After a few days of this, it was amazing how glad people were to see the kid with his magical rat pipe. And they were amazing when the rats followed hint out of town. They'd have been really amazed if they'd ever found out that the rats and the piper met up with a cat somewhere outside of town and solemnly counted out the money.

Pratchett’s sense of humor is priceless and the reading is very entertaining too! Very clever and satirical take on humanity, the government, fairy tales and the Grimm brothers and so on… So refreshingly entertaining- there is really no one quite like Terry Pratchett!! :)

The narrator is beyond amazing! I loved listening to his narration while running - looking forward to listen to the remaining 2 volumes from Audible.
To all the LOTR fans - you cannot go wrong with this unabridged version… the hobbit and elven songs really do come to life like no movie version! Happy listening!!

Mort, Only you can save this World, Wyrd Sisters and Small Gods are amazing performances... Guards! Guards! got a bit butchered up story-wise... Overall, a very pleasurable experience listening to this audiobook. A job well done BBC Radio Drama!
