Historia
Monochrome is a busted flush - an inquiry into the misdeeds of the intelligence services, established by a vindictive prime minister but rendered toothless by a wily chief spook. For years it has ground away uselessly, interviewing witnesses with nothing to offer, producing a report with nothing to say, while the civil servants at its helm see their careers disappearing into a black hole. And then the OTIS file falls into their hands. What secrets does this hold that see a long-redundant spy being chased through Devon's green lanes in the dark?

Intricate story, extremely elegantly told, amazingly performed. Masterstroke being it possesses you to read the whole series again from the beginning.

Historia
Savine dan Glokta, once Adua's most powerful investor, finds her judgement, fortune and reputation in tatters. But she still has all her ambitions, and no scruple will be permitted to stand in her way. For heroes like Leo dan Brock and Stour Nightfall, only happy with swords drawn, peace is an ordeal to end as soon as possible. But grievances must be nursed, power seized and allies gathered first, while Rikke must master the power of the Long Eye...before it kills her.

His best yet
Revisado: 10-11-20
It gives optimism that the sixth (seventh) one feels like the most successful overall, in terms of structure, buildup, drawing upon the previous threads. Books before have certainly had fun and thrills but there feels like a consistency of pace that hadn’t quite been as thoroughly maintained throughout the book as done here.
Or it’s recency bias, but I’m certainly satisfied.
