Historia
Marie-Laure lives with her father in Paris near the Museum of Natural History, where he works as the master of its thousands of locks. When she is six, Marie-Laure goes blind and her father builds a perfect miniature of their neighborhood so she can memorize it by touch and navigate her way home. When she is 12, the Nazis occupy Paris and father and daughter flee to the walled citadel of Saint-Malo, where Marie-Laure’s reclusive great-uncle lives in a tall house by the sea. With them they carry what might be the museum’s most valuable and dangerous jewel.

Beautiful, engaging story, but mediocre narration.

Would you listen to All the Light We Cannot See again? Why?
Only with a different narrator - he was too flat.
What was one of the most memorable moments of All the Light We Cannot See?
Of course, when Marie-Laure was saved by Werner.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
His presentation was flat and he did not transition well between male/female characters.
If you could take any character from All the Light We Cannot See out to dinner, who would it be and why?
Marie-Laure - what a delightful character.

Historia
It's 1727. Tom Hawkins is damned if he's going to follow in his father's footsteps and become a country parson. Not for him a quiet life of prayer and propriety. His preference is for wine, women, and cards. But there's a sense of honor there too, and Tom won't pull family strings to get himself out of debt - not even when faced with the appalling horrors of London's notorious debtors' prison: The Marshalsea Gaol.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Griping story, accurate historical look at London's debtor's prisons of the 18th Century.
What about John Lee’s performance did you like?
A classic John Lee read - always at his best in this genre & time period. Brilliant performance of the many British accents.

Historia
It's just a small story really, about, among other things, a girl, some words, an accordionist, some fanatical Germans, a Jewish fist-fighter, and quite a lot of thievery. Set during World War II in Germany, Markus Zusak's groundbreaking new novel is the story of Liesel Meminger, a foster girl living outside of Munich. Liesel scratches out a meager existence for herself by stealing when she encounters something she can't resist: books.
