You know whether you like Terry Praychett’s Discworld books. That isn’t the question, The question is whether these new audiobook releases match up to the originals narrated by Stephen Briggs. In my opinion, no. The narration is fine, but I prefer the older stuff.

This is the fourth Campion book. It is also the first one that is truly a mystery. Despite a stereotypical cast of English eccentrics, the plot is engaging and the solution worthy of Christie.

Save us from murders at British weekend house parties. And save us from mysterious gangs of foreigners. The introductory Alleyn novel had included these and other overworked British mystery themes. Alleyn himself is clever and intelligent but not well developed as a character. In short, give this a miss unless you are set on reading the whole series.

This book is more of a farce than a mystery. Character actions and motivations well beyond believability. Still, it is a necessary read fir Campion fans.

A decent mystery in the style of Nero Wolfe mysteries, set in early modern Venice

One of the best Eve Dallas books - good police procedural, emotional commitment, emotional consequences. An unexpected climax.

A good story, but nothing surprising for someone familiar with Modesitt. Not a critical Recluce novel.

Provides an interesting overview of the early modern period of European history. Keeps it going at a good clip.

This book had several of the classic Dallas elements - a whodunnit, a man-hunt, and memorable interrogations. What's not to libe?

Too much time away from Plant snd Jury. Too much reliance on coincidence. My biggest criticism is that I still don't totally understand what was going on. An author doesn't need an Agatha Christie drawing room monologue to explain the mystery. In this case, though, it could have been a lot clearer.
