Historia
When Michael Pollan set out to research how LSD and psilocybin (the active ingredient in magic mushrooms) are being used to provide relief to people suffering from difficult-to-treat conditions such as depression, addiction, and anxiety, he did not intend to write what is undoubtedly his most personal book. But upon discovering how these remarkable substances are improving the lives not only of the mentally ill but also of healthy people coming to grips with the challenges of everyday life, he decided to explore the landscape of the mind in the first person as well as the third.

The book covered many aspects in a way that was ever expanding and easy to follow. Very thorough and wall presented from a journalistic and personal point of view. So very good!

Nevermoor is simply Wonderful
Revisado: 07-10-18
Nevermoor: The Trials of Morrigan Crow is AWESOME! It's a bit of Harry Potter and Alice in Wonderland with much of that which makes Neil Gaiman's work so enchanting to read. I hope this turns into a long and wondrous series!

Historia
In 1927, German filmmaker Fritz Lang brought to the screen one of the most ground-breaking sci-fi melodramas of all time, based on the screenplay he co-wrote with his wife, novelist Thea von Harbou. It is regarded as a classic and one of the first full-length movies in the genre. Five visionary new pulp writers have envisioned four dramatic tales to guide readers back to those vaulted, shining towers of Metropolis in this new collection inspired by Lang’s masterpiece.

Voices in the Darkness
Revisado: 12-05-17
I thought the stories did a wonderful job of filing out the world that is the city of Metropolis. Many new angles in a city that is often broken up into the views of the rich and the poor. And told so artfully by Alex Bagosy! The odd audio edit here and there hindered the experience a bit on rare occasion. But the delivery is rich and varied well between the characters male and female alike. There was also strong consistency with the regular cast between stories. I found it very easy to follow and experience this dark world and its various inhabitants.

Duality
Revisado: 10-04-17
I loved the book. But it took some adjustment in the beginning. I'm used to Lorelei King doing all the voices. She is just an amazing voice actor and it's just very easy to listen to her beautiful voice. And even though I've often thought I'd prefer to have (at minimum) two people voicing the two genders in any series or otherwise doing exactly what they did with this performance, it was not a seamless change though. George Newbern's performance was awesome. I liked how he took on the role of Adam and his parts of the story. But it was still jarring for me for at least a few transitions before it really started feeling natural to me. The difference in timbre from what I was used to from all the prior books in the series was just much harder for me to get over than I expect. None-the-less I ultimately loved his trading sections with Lorelei. She has carried the weight of all those amazing characters to us so incredibly well over the series on her own to this point. And the series would not have suffered in any way if she'd continued to do so. But I am also very happy to see them continue to work together in this amazing universe that Patricia Briggs so generously shares with us.

Never Enough
Revisado: 05-15-12
What made the experience of listening to The Daily Show with Jon Stewart Presents Earth (The Audiobook) the most enjoyable?
Hearing the cast of The Daily Show and guest stars like Sigourney Weaver delivering a classic performance.
Any additional comments?
So good! The production could easily have been twice as long and would not have suffered for it. But because of it's brevity some topics simply went by too quickly, feeling brief and unexplored. It left me wondering where that amazing comic genius is hiding those meaty bits? If not for that it would be 5 stars.
