Jon's analysis of current events, particularly on the social justice movement within evangelicalism is very helpful. I highly recommend this podcast and Jon's books.

Historia
After years of bitter debate, the United States declared war on Imperial Germany on April 6, 1917, plunging the country into the savage European conflict that would redraw the map of the continent - and the globe. The World Remade is an engrossing chronicle of America's pivotal, still controversial intervention into World War I, encompassing the tumultuous politics and towering historical figures that defined the era and forged the future.

Great book, excellent narration
Revisado: 09-29-22
I loved this book from start to finish. I had read the paperback of Meyer's first book, A World Undone, and enjoyed it thoroughly. I was unsure if this book would overlap too much with the other, but I was pleasantly surprised how well the two complement each other. the narrator did a terrific job making me feel like I was listening to a story. Meyer's overview of the United States role in World War I was thorough and insightful. So many interesting background topics were covered which I never would have thought to look into or have been interested in on my own (Prohibition movement, Organized Labor, Various lesser known political figures of the time, the Spanish Flu, Douglas Macarthur, etc.). He definitely takes a more critical stance toward Woodrow Wilson, but I think that is actually justified given the evidence he puts forward throughout the book. The actual description of the battles that American troops fought in is relatively small which makes sense given how brief the fighting of the AEF was. He does cover those though. Most of the book is devoted to the buildup and the aftermath of the American involvement. I would highly recommend this informative and enjoyable read.

Since the landmark Obergefell v. Hodges Supreme Court decision in 2015, sexual identity has dominated both public discourse and cultural trends — yet no historical phenomenon is its own cause. From Augustine to Marx, various views and perspectives have contributed to the modern understanding of the self.

Great Book, a few Gaps
Revisado: 08-23-22
I found this book very helpful in Understanding the past and development of thought to our current time. however it doesn't address some of the race and CRT things that seem to be related to the LGBT movement as well

Great Value for some Great Books!
Revisado: 07-15-22
I was excited to find such a good package of Lewis' works available for easy listening. So far, I have finished listening to Mere Christianity. The narrator was terrific. I expect the other books in this collection will be of great quality too. I do not agree with Lewis on everything he taught (his views on Free Will & the Atonement, for example), but there is much gold to be mined here! His words are insightful, thought-provoking, and challenging. Every Christian can and should glean from Lewis' perennial wisdom. His whit, humor, and memorable illustrations will keep you hooked. His spiritual insights and piercing analysis will keep you thinking deeply about God, humanity, the world, and your faith. This was the best deal on Audible I could find for 1 credit. Add it to your library today!

Originally published in 2014, this updated edition of The Revolt of the Public includes an extensive analysis of Donald Trump's improbable rise to the presidency and the electoral triumphs of Brexit and concludes with a speculative look forward, pondering whether the current elite class can bring about a reformation of the democratic process and whether new organizing principles, adapted to a digital world, can arise out of the present political turbulence.
