Historia
Why we think it’s a great listen: Some books are meant to be read; others are meant to be heard – Water for Elephants falls into the second group, and is one of the best examples we have of how a powerful performance enhances a great story. Nonagenarian Jacob Jankowski reflects back on his wild and wondrous days with a circus. It's the Depression Era and Jacob, finding himself parentless and penniless, joins the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth.

Baffled
Revisado: 05-20-11
Ok the book wasn't terrible, it just wasn't that interesting. I can understand why a number of people who really love the circus would think this was a great book, but I really don't get why it's getting all the hype it is. I certainly wouldn't call it "essential" and I would be pretty steamed if I had bought it because of that reccomendation

Great ... But...
Revisado: 05-06-11
I love this series and I was really looking forward to this latest installment, but I found this book lacked something. I had heard this would be one of the last Sookie Stackhouse books and I was hoping that Harris would begin to offer some conclusions to Sookie's story. Instead, the books conclusion is frustratingly ambiguous. I really hope there is another book in the pipeline, Sookie deserves to go out with a bang not parked on the couch watching jeopardy.
