Historia
Why is Christ called “the Son of God”? Discover an answer so simple you’ll wonder why you never saw it before—and so beautiful it’ll take your breath away. No matter who you are or what position you have taken on the Sonship of Christ, you have no doubt felt the tension and complexity involved in trying to make sense out of the two apparently contradictory claims in Scripture.

One of the Best Books I’ve Ever Read
Revisado: 12-26-24
The overall depth and even simplicity that Ty writes with is, to me in this little book, probably one of his best contributions to understanding the story of the Bible.
Don’t mistake that he takes us into theological depths framing them within a narrative with a shallow meaning underlying the text.
This book is an invitation to think deeper into how Christ’s sonship means literally everything to our redemption and wellbeing.
I HIGHLY recommend this book.
That all being said, I cannot give a full 5 stars for the narration performance. His intonations aren’t consistent with the material. It’s also rather monotonous.
Therefore, while I highly recommend this book to someone considering a wonderful and engaging study of what God means when he speaks of Sonship about Jesus and his beloved children through all history, I hesitate to recommend this particular rendering. Buy the hard copy and enjoy it slowly.
Like I said, one of the best books I’ve ever READ, but definitely not listened to.

Historia
Pacifist Franz Hasel was drafted into one of Hitler’s elite troops to build bridges at the front lines. Just before he was sent deep into Russia - where all but seven of his 1,200 man unit would die - he secretly discarded his gun, fearing that, as the company sharpshooter, he might be tempted to kill. In Russia he faced a new problem: how to warn the local Jews before the SS got to them.

Great Story - But Audio Experience Takes Away
Revisado: 10-05-24
As most have shared, this story is wonderful and I am inspired while my faith is strengthened hearing it for the first time.
However…Audible, I am disappointed you allowed this to get past your audio standards. I understand having a musical score might add to the drama, as it does for a well d

Historia
This is a story that starts off close and goes very big. The initial part of the story might sound familiar at first: it is about a platoon of mostly 19-year-old boys sent to Afghanistan, and an experience that ends abruptly in catastrophe. Their part of the story folds into the next: inexorably linked to those soldiers and never comprehensively reported before is the US Department of Defense’s quest to build the world’s most powerful biometrics database, with the ability to identify, monitor, catalog, and police people all over the world.

Scary Stunning
Revisado: 08-26-24
The author’s objective, I think was twofold: to tell the tragic and convoluted story of First Platoon and second, to create awareness of the dizzying advances of surveillance and monitoring technology originated from the battlefield.
Fear. That is what drives this. And the more that emerges into our world that drives it, the more this technology will be relied upon.
This book is a glimpse into what is coming.

How did the universe begin? How did the world get here? Where and how did the human race start? Patriarchs and Prophets is a book about beginnings. In fascinating, easy-to-understand language, it describes exactly how planet Earth, and the people who live on it, began.

A Wonderful Book
Revisado: 03-22-24
I’ve read this book a few times. First time listening to the audio. Not the best narration I’ve heard. Comes across as robotic at times. But because this is a beloved EGW volume, I listened through.
Also, I think it’s time to do all her books on audio NOT with the KJV. No one talks like that anymore. It’s not sacred and can be difficult to understand while taking away from the overall narrative of the book. The Conflict Beautiful is a great example of updated language. Unfortunately they don’t have any audio editions.

Historia
Is Atheism Dead? is an entertaining, impressively wide-ranging, and decidedly provocative answer to that famous 1966 Time cover that itself provocatively asked “Is God Dead?” In a voice that is by turns witty, muscular, and poetic, Metaxas intentionally echoes C. S. Lewis and G. K. Chesterton in cheerfully and logically making his astonishing case, along the way presenting breathtaking - and often withering - new evidence and arguments against the idea of a Creatorless universe.

A Great Book - Except for One Thing
Revisado: 02-27-24
Mr. Metaxas is a brilliant researcher, writer, and apologist. He represents the Christian faith well. I loved everything about this book, except one thing: he seems to ignore all of the wonderful evidence of a young earth, along with the flood mentioned in Genesis 7-9. Why he leans into the “science” and agrees that there were millions of years of death, destruction and predation before Adam and Eve, is beyond me. Mr. Metaxas, (and anyone reading this) I highly recommend you check out "Is Genesis History?" It is a great series of teachings on a young earth, along with superlative and emerging scientific evidence presented in a very understandable way about God‘s original Creation and especially the great flood.

Historia
In 1770, the fuse of revolution is lit by a fateful command - “Fire!” - as England’s peacekeeping mission ignites into the Boston Massacre. The senseless killing of civilians leads to a tumultuous trial in which lawyer John Adams must defend the very enemy who has assaulted and abused the laws he holds sacred. The taut courtroom drama soon broadens into a stunning epic of war as King George III leads a reckless and corrupt government in London toward the escalating abuse of his colonies.

History Alive!
Revisado: 10-09-23
I am published book narrator here on Audible (a very modest few titles) and a lover of history.
This book and Mark Bramhall’s performance is suburb! This is my favorite genre of audio book because I can feel like I am in the room and near the characters living out their own history.
In the case of this book, monumental history and characters’ stories still bearing out today.
This is highly recommended and I am about to dive into volume 2 as I make a drive across my beloved country.

It's time you learned from the legend of Honi the Circle Maker. When his land was drought-stricken in ancient times, Honi ha-M'agel drew a circle in the sand, stepped inside it, and wouldn't budge until God answered his petition for rain. Honi's story transformed author Mark Batterson's own experience with prayer and inspired him to document his journey to praying more powerful prayers in The Circle Maker.

I found myself anticipating what miracle or teaching will come next while listening.
I think this is one of the better books in prayer out there.

Historia
Hated and hailed, excoriated and revered, Abraham Lincoln was at the pinnacle of American power when secessionists gave no quarter in a clash of visions bound up with money, race, identity, and faith. In him we can see the possibilities of the presidency as well as its limitations. This book tells the story of Lincoln from his birth on the Kentucky frontier to his leadership during the Civil War to his tragic assassination: his rise, his self-education, his loves, his bouts of depression, his political failures, his deepening faith, and his persistent conviction that slavery must end.

Great Book on a Great Man
Revisado: 06-13-23
I wanted to find a book that covered his life with enough detail so as to get to know him. And yet this one not only did that but kept up the pace within a reasonable amount of time.
I my humble opinion, not enough good could said about our 16th president. He saved this land from despotism and institutionalized hate.
Very highly recommend!

The major difference between achieving people and average people is their perception of and response to failure. John C. Maxwell takes a closer look at failure - and reveals that the secret of moving beyond failure is to use it as a lesson and a stepping-stone. He covers the top reasons people fail and shows how to master fear instead of being mastered by it. Listeners will discover that positive benefits can accompany negative experiences - if you have the right attitude.

What happened to the ancient Egyptians? When their civilization fell, did the Egyptian people disappear? Or do their descendants exist to this day? What about the ancient Persians? Romans? Mayans? For years, the answers to these questions have been hidden. But no more. Nathaniel T. Jeanson, a Harvard graduate with a PhD in cell and developmental biology, has discovered a DNA-based, generation by generation family tree for global humanity. This tree uncovers the origin and fate of these ancient peoples—and connects them to peoples alive today.

The Audio Experience Is a Slog
Revisado: 02-14-23
I can only assume the hard copy of this book with all the accompanying color plates helps. One reason I listen to audio books is because of the portability. With so many references to the accompanying PDF, it makes it somewhat hard to keep up, not to mention so much genealogical letter referencing.
Ultimately I’m glad to know so much of human genealogical history CAN be traced to Noah and his sons. But this could have been done with a much better or parred down reading.
At the very end he also references eternal conscious torment so prevalent in evangelicalism. It’s anti-loving God in my (and the Bible’s) view.
The reading wasn’t horrible but intonation was off throughout.
