Enjoyed it.

This was my first book in this series. I'll definitely try another one.
I felt that the writing style let something to be desired, but I stuck with it and the story was funny, cute and entertaining.
The narrator did a great job and made me want to stick with it all the way to the end.
For example, there's a few lines about a phone ringing and the character wonders who would be calling at this hour.... the author took us through an introduction of characters as the main character guessed who was on the phone... only after all that does she think to look at the caller id. It's a cute convention for character introduction, I just didn't care for it that much. Personal taste - I'm sure it won't bother most folks. :-)

On a warm summer morning in North Carthage, Missouri, it is Nick and Amy Dunne’s fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick’s clever and beautiful wife disappears. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn’t doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams about the slope and shape of his wife’s head, but passages from Amy's diary reveal the alpha-girl perfectionist could have put anyone dangerously on edge.

Enjoyable read
Revisado: 02-03-13
I didn't know what to expect from this book. I saw it was on the best seller list and after reading the synopsis, I decided to give it a try. Glad I did.
The performances were great and the plot/story line easy to follow. I didn't care for some of the paticulars and I really did not enjoy the ending, but I did enjoy trying to figure out what really happened as I made my way through the book. Overall, I think the characters were developed well, their experiences reasonable, and the "who done it" plot was also well done.
I would definitely recommend this book to others - in fact, I already have. Give it a try!

Thrilling to the end!
Revisado: 10-28-12
I heard about this book on NPR and it sounded good. I was excited to see it available on Audible! I just finished the book and it was thrilling to the end. Great story of international (mostly European) intrigue. The book is written from the viewpoint of Sam, who had seen his wife abducted and thereby looks like a traitor to his employer (CIA). Sam tries to find his wife and winds up in a plot line with not just kidnapping, but weapons, trafficking, more kidnapping, and the list goes on. Very well written and enjoyable to read.
The narrator does an absolutely wonderful job with many languages and dialects. Exceptionally well done, in my opinion.
I recommended this book to several folks before I finished it and recommend it highly to anyone who enjoys a strong plot, good story-telling and, for Audible folks - fun dialects as well.

Fun read
Revisado: 10-19-12
This was my first Patterson book to "read". I know, I'm a little late to the party on this, but at least I finally got started.
I found the story to be well-written, easy to follow, and easy to start and stop. (I listened to this over a weekend while traveling).
Characters were believable and and the story was plausible. The narrator did a great job with intonation and switching character voices throughout.
I was impressed with the book and plan to read another once I see one on sale. :-)
I recommend it, if you are on the fence about trying it out. Try it!

Really liked this one!
Revisado: 10-19-12
This was my first Alex Cross book to read. I wasn't sure what to expect, and I was pleasantly surprised! Good plot line, good writing, great performance - not overly-gorey on details which I liked as well. I have an imagination and Patterson let me use it - I liked that. I plan to read more in the series, for sure!

good read
Revisado: 10-19-12
I've read several of the Connelly "Harry Bosch" series and thought I would try this series out as well. Enjoyable - I will read more of this series. I was a bit let-down by the ending, but even so, I liked the characters and story development until the last 2 chapters. Felt kinda like Connelly just got tired of writing the story and so ended it abruptly. Maybe that's just me though - I don't see other folks with that same take on it as I read other reviewers.

Really enjoyed each of these stories. The plots were solid and fun.
I've already bought 2 more in the series and can't wait to hear more!
Narrator was excellent as well.
Side note: In the 3rd story, I found the sax playing to be a bit distracting. It's good music, I would just prefer it was at a similar volume as the narrator's voice. It seemed much louder than the voice volume to me.

Fun read
Revisado: 09-05-12
I really didn't know what to expect with this book. It turns out that it was a good mystery, good plot, nice descriptions and an overall enjoyable read. The time period and royalty slant made it even more fun. I don't understand why the author chose to have a character with a speech impediment, since it became annoying to me after a while. Or maybe the character was annoying even without the speech problem. :-)
Well written and it was easy for me to visualize scenes, conversations, characters, etc. That's important for me.
The narrator was great - handled multiple accents well and consistently.
Two thumbs up!!

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
I had heard "D is for Deadbeat" and really enjoyed it. So, I thought I would go to the beginning of the series and read the rest of the series in order. I'm not sure that was really necessary, but I'm sticking to it.
I enjoyed this book. The plot was a bit predictable to me, but I liked it anyway. I was able to visualize easily and it kept me interested through all but the very end of the book.
The narrator is absolutely great. I look forward to hearing more stories read by her.
If you’ve listened to books by Sue Grafton before, how does this one compare?
In my opinion, not as good as others, but it's enjoyable.
Was A is for Alibi worth the listening time?

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would definitely recommend this to friends. It is so well written and kept my interest through the whole book.
Normally, when I read, there's usually a lull of interest for me in the story line. I don't have a lot of books I
Have you listened to any of Simon Vance’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I've only listened to the Millennium series so far, but he did a great job in those books. Good use of voices, knowledge of languages, and intonation. I'm looking for more of his works now.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Thrilling
