Great Wrter & Reader Ghostbusters Goes Political
Revisado: 03-05-11
I read this book only because I am a fan of Robert Harris and felt anyone who wrote Pompei and the books on Cicero couldn't possibly write a bad book that didn't interest me, although I must admit, the little plot
didn't on first and second perusal on the postage stamp review did not appeal to me. It was a sleeper. A good audible read. Great reader, great writer.I'm not going to spoil the plot by saying anything more..............Just adding to the reviews, one of the ways I finally pick a book...a lot of reviews!
And then you can get the movie, of the prime minister (Pierce Brosnan) and his ghostwriter (Ewan McGergor)

Historia
From Andre Agassi, one of the most beloved athletes in history and one of the most gifted men ever to step onto a tennis court, a beautiful, haunting autobiography. Agassi brings a near-photographic memory to every pivotal match and every relationship. Never before has the inner game of tennis and the outer game of fame been so precisely limned. In clear, taut prose, Agassi evokes his loyal brother, his wise coach, his gentle trainer, all the people who help him regain his balance and find love at last with Stefanie Graf.

Title Says It All
Revisado: 03-05-11
This was a book that I only "read" audibly after so many disparate friends told me how enjoyable the book was.I enjoy memoirs and biography but.. I didn't follow tennis, couldn't imagine how I could follow it but his openness was an extraordinary gift to an audience of fans, who now include me.It's not about tennis, as much as it is about sharing a life in tennis that seemed quite literally to end at LOVE but with Steffi Graf. And it was fun finally learning about tennis And in his honesty and generosity towards other players I now understand more about the sport .After the first sentence, it was mighty hard to put down. A passionate but curiously anti-sports book. If I had read this review from Time, I wouldn't have had to have so many friends tell me to read the book! “Andre Agassi’s memoir is just as entrancing as his tennis game . . . By sharing an unvarnished, at times inspiring story in an arresting, muscular style, Agassi may have just penned one of the best sports autobiographies of all time. Check—it’s one of the better memoirs out there, period.”

Historia
Charming, engaging, and surprisingly forthright, Michael Caine gives us his insider's view of Hollywood and the story of his brilliant second act. When he was in his late 50s, Michael Caine believed his Hollywood career had come to an end. The scripts being sent his way were worse and worse. Salvation came in the unlikely form of his old friend Jack Nicholson, who convinced him to give acting one more shot. What followed was one of the most radical comebacks in film history.

Never Make Friends With An Elephant Keeper...
Revisado: 03-05-11
Unless you have room for an Elephant. And this book was a delight, despite the fact that with his trademark voice, the elephant was always in the room. Michael Caine, has written and reads a delightful low key second autobiography. A totally unexpected treat. It has made me even rent some of the movies he talks about making, on Netflix. A boy from the Elephant who did well....and the sufi saying aside about caution entertaining elephant keepers, this one is a keeper. No mean spirited, revenge tell tales here, just a lot of really wonderful stories (Many of them Hollywood) about a really interesting guy who was able to tell the Queen a joke (she asked and you feel you are with him at the table as he also shares the joke! ) charming and entertaining, and often bittersweet. I couldn't wait to walk the dog in the park even in the dead of Chicago winter listening! His love story with his second wife out of a movie. His second career...and third...

Wait Wait, Don't Purchase This/ I give it NO star
Revisado: 03-05-11
I don't know why, it was one credit. I assumed it would have music, but then as I realized it wasn't going to have music, I thought, well surely it must be some amazing wordsmith doing Tom Waits in a clever mini-biography, didn't expect a pedestrian summary, lackluster, I felt it was like reading a wikipedia entry from someone who was waiting for something, but not Tom Waits. Even if this was free, don't waste your time. I am taking the time to write this review because actually, I was fairly insulted! I am hoping the rating system allows me to give "No" star, but if I have to press one star, please subtract it and don't consider buying it, save your credit for something truly outstanding, "You can tell me that it's gospel but I know that it's only church"
