Has anyone seen Andreas? Andreas's disappearance is a mystery to all, including his inseparable friend Zipp. But its not easy for Zipp to come forward with details of the last time he saw his friend - they had been following an old woman, an easy target for some quick cash, and Andreas boldly followed her into her home brandishing his knife, the next moment he was gone.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
After male-authored works Fossum is excellent respite. Never too-kind to the character or reader, frequently brutal, but redeeming with her quiet attentiveness to detail. A surprising source of power: viewpoint is utterly feminine. Her male characters sometimes see things that really only a female would know. Young Andreas talks about girls that have to go to the bathroom to change their pantyliner because he only has to look at them and they get wet. Cute. So often the reverse is the case. A male writer putting incongruous thoughts into a female character's head. Fossum's feminine voice is not saccharine. She empowers. Emotionally complex listen.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Probably would not recommend it to a friend because I am 28 and the book is not mature enough for my accidental peer-group.
Would you ever listen to anything by Orson Scott Card again?
On the basis of this first of Card's writing that I have listened, I indeed sought another Card book immediately after.
Have you listened to any of the narrators’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Solid narrator is a gem, and here there are four. The female narrator gives only chapter titles.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Three young friends find their identity across folds in time.

Young people should listen to this book. The physics, space-time, erudite dialogue between the captain Ram and the Expendable companion, and sci fi elements all satisfying. Characters are well created and given heart. The writing is not challenging, in fact, it's almost challengingly basic when depictions are made and internal thought processes given. Find the right gear and this book reads effortlessly, well-paced.
