A verified Amazon review-The Christmas House is the embodiment of the Christmas Spirit. Magical, wondrous, full of the warmth generated by the company of family and friends during good times and hard. This book hits you with a healthy dose of reality, but it also takes you on a fantastical journey filled with hope and joy, grace and forgiveness. If you don't examine it too closely, but just let the words transport you on a trip that will engage your emotions and give you cause to ponder what can be real, what may be true - if "close your eyes" and open your heart, this book will bring it all ...

Meh
Revisado: 12-22-22
Not a bad story, but it jumped back an forth a lot and didn't really have a conclusion. The narration was painful to listen to, at times it sounded flat and robitic.

Historia
In this definitive biography of one of Hollywood's most beloved stars, Michael Munn reveals the truth behind the diffident, earnest and kindly persona of Jimmy Stewart. Drawn from the author's formal interviews and informal meetings with the star and his friendship with Stewart's wife, Gloria, is this portrait of a man who came from the Presbyterian traditions of Pennsylvania to become one of the silver screen's enduring legends.

Annoying Narrator
Revisado: 10-27-21
The narrator nearly ruined this book. I would think a narrator reading a biography of an iconic actor would take the time to learn how to pronounce the names of his contemporaries... Or at least pre-read the book? Just a little fyi Mr. Whitten, Glenn Miller played TROMBONE - not the trumpet.

Each day we face a barrage of images and messages from society and the media telling us who, what, and how we should be. We are led to believe that if we could only look perfect and lead perfect lives, we'd no longer feel inadequate. So most of us perform, please, and perfect, all the while thinking, What if I can't keep all of these balls in the air? Why isn't everyone else working harder and living up to my expectations? What will people think if I fail or give up? When can I stop proving myself?

Narrator detracts from material for me
Revisado: 07-30-19
Really good material, but the narrator was too sing-songy and overly expressive and made it difficult for me to listen..
