Would you listen to Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi again? Why?

Yes - Although I purchased the book to learn more about the Alter Rebbe, I found that the book was more about the origins of Lubavitch Chabad than the Rebbe himself. It gave me insights into the movement's struggles to survive in the early years.

Would you recommend Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi to your friends? Why or why not?

Yes - It gives information about the Alter Rebbe, but more about the origins of Lubavitch Chabad.

What about Shlomo Zacks’s performance did you like?

The British accent was nice.

Any additional comments?

To re-emphasize my main point—to me this book was more about the origins of Lubavitch Chabad, than the Alter Rebbe himself. Yes, it gave information about his childhood, etc., but the main focus was on the struggle of the movement to survive in the face of a tremendous amount of opposition. I would have liked it to be more about the Alter Rebbe, like Telushkin's incredible work on the seventh Lubavitcher Rebbe.

Would you consider the audio edition of Restoration to be better than the print version?

Yes - It's great to hear it read in the author's own voice!

Have you listened to any of D. Thomas Lancaster’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I've listened to D.T. Lancaster's teachings for many years. This is consistent and delivered with the same quality as everything else he has produced.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I particularly appreciated hearing the author's own journey of discovery that he articulates so well.

Any additional comments?

This book usually elicits a strong response from those who read it. You will either say, "Yes! This is what I've been missing in my faith!" or you will say, "I just can't swallow this." The concepts presented in Restoration are delivered in a simple, casual, but well articulated manner, yet they are profound truths that speak to the core of what it means to be a follower of Jesus, the Messiah of Israel. D.T. Lancaster works to do exactly as the title suggests, and restore the Torah to disciples of Jesus. I can't recommend this book highly enough.
