Sure, the narration was a little dramatic but I think the material warranted it as opposed to a stiff "just the facts ma'am" style of oration.

Overall the book was well worth the credit.

Just get it and enjoy. The author's narration alone was well worth the credit and the story was interesting, tension filled and sad (at times).

I've been putting off getting this title for years, glad I finally got around to it. Will listen to it again.

Like going home...

I listen to a lot of books, some good, some bad but most are, at best, ok. I'm not saying that this is the best book I've ever listened to but as a life long fan of Stephen King this one felt like going home, warm and comforting and wonderfully weird, classic King. Loved it. Narration was great.

Didn't make it past the character intros

I'm not saying this title is bad, I have no clue as I quit pretty early in but potential buyers should know this is a semi fictionalized in parts, super deep dive of the people that took part in the witch trials that I just did not have the attention span for. The narrator's voice is clear but monotone and uninteresting. I'm sure this book has its merits, I'm sure there are tons of folks that will love this but if you're bored semi-easily then proceed with caution.

Thankfully I got this as an audio add on to the kindle version. I'm getting old, time is precious so with that being said, I wish I could get my 7 hours back. Why I listened until the end I don't know. I can say that if I used a credit i'd have exchanged it. Convoluted story, BORING characters and the whole designer shoe call out nonsense during tense moments thing is an insult to women.

Not very good... at all. Read all of the reviews

I only got this because I listened to" the Huntress" first and figured this might be good as well. My second mistake was not reading ALL of the reviews... This book reads like a bad romance novel intertwined with a very mediocre spy novel. The characters were stereotypes mostly, they were dialed in, cliche'. I struggled to finish and returned this rag as soon as I was done, waste of a credit otherwise.

Great book if you are looking for that boost to get closer to God. It’s a good book to meditate on and just soak in, especially if you need encouragement and shot of faith during your day. It’s very devotional and supernatural at the same time. Recommended to those who love devotions and are seeking God daily.

Great read!

After a string of duds by (usually) great authors this book gripped me from beginning to end. I finished this book in 2 sittings and was engrossed the entire time. Wonderfully written and narrated expose' of what can happen when power driven egos, greed and naiveté combine. I'm sure the whistle blowers and the author saved lives.

Get this book, you won't be sorry.
