Loved it
Revisado: 05-03-24
It keeps doing great work, and is becoming my favorite series. The voice acting is incredible, and the humor is top notch. Only one thing I greatly disliked, and that was how a fight ended because of the usual trope of a character not bothering to use the same maneuvers as they have all series just to progress a certain plot point, but it was fine. The best thing I loved in this book was how things came out in a big way. Questions and mysteries since the first book was answered, and a couple turns I didn't see coming. A masterpiece.

Historia
For all that Jason knows, life is amazing. But he's about to learn that all his new power, wealth, and influence comes at a price. Riding high on success, he and his team are looking to the future, preparing themselves for the challenges to come. Nothing, however, could have prepared him for the lessons his enemies have to teach. When magic is involved, the stakes can be even greater than life and death. While Jason’s personal enemies make plans, the greater foes plaguing his new home have been pushed to the brink.

Keeping strong
Revisado: 04-30-24
Another great addition, that was a pleasure to read. The author does an amazing job fleshing out the world and progressing the story in a riveting way, that doesn't rely on constant combat. The combat it does have, I was less of a fan of the shift in the storytelling, but I have to admit it was still excellent and worked better for the story. Some of the combats have little of Jason or a more first person perspective, but it does help to move the story forward while putting his team on display! Well worth your time.

A fantastic addition to the story, that struck the perfect balance between story, world building. and combat. It made me laugh repeatedly, and eager to hear more throughout. Highly recommend.

Historia
It’s not easy making the career jump from office-supplies-store middle manager to heroic interdimensional adventurer. At least, Jason tries to be heroic, but it's hard to be good when all your powers are evil. He’ll face off against cannibals, cultists, wizards, monsters...and that’s just on the first day. He’s going to need courage, he’s going to need wit, and he’s going to need some magic powers of his own. But first, he’s going to need pants.

An impressive start
Revisado: 04-22-24
I thoroughly enjoyed this story, and eagerly await jumping into the next book. It starts off quickly, hooking you into the story while still doing a good job at fleshing out some of the intricacies. They struck a decent balance with explaining the general layout of your usual "stats" by giving you enough info to understand and get invested early, then fleshing it out a bit more as the story progressed so it wasn't overwhelming. While I enjoyed the pacing of it, I am looking forward to see if the next book gets as in depth as I would like to see.
Without ruining anything in the story, I will say that it is paced well, has ample moments to make you laugh, and gets you invested in the characters. The author did and excellent job on the writing, and the voice actor took that and really made it shine. It's a fantastic find when you have a great story being told with a talented voice.
I don't want to spoil anything, so go find out for yourself!

The apocalypse is on the horizon, and only one man can stop it. Joined by his Apocalypse Knights, Maximo Strident will face dungeons and monsters at levels never before seen. The worst of all, though, are those deranged parodies of Knights-Errant known as Harbingers. It's a good thing Max can steal spells, because the world depends on him ascending to heights of power once thought impossible.

Bit of a letdown.
Revisado: 04-17-24
Honestly, I only got this book to finish out the series and see how the story ended. The overall story started well, and did so many things right, but went downhill in book three and four.
I understand that bridging the gap in level to reach the endgame is hard to do in the story without it seeming repetitive and drawn out, but this book was not the right answer. A single monster caused a twenty level jump, and that fight as a whole made it closer to thirty. With the massive jumps in level, and the use of new spells they got "dozens of dungeons ago" that we didn't get to see, and the stupid use of spells at times, made this book Mid at its very peak.
They abandoned the interesting mechanics of mixing spells, never used a single passive skill like "Lurker" from book 1, abandoned augmenting his blade work with skills like he did in the first and second book, and refused to make smart obvious choices like using COUNTERSPELL. It was used I believe once in this book. Max watched them summon in monsters with a SPELL, but never tried to counter it?
The story wasn't horrible by any means, but it was rushed and frustrating.

Historia
Maximo Strident, war veteran and member of local law enforcement, never wanted to enter the dungeon. With promises of wealth beyond his imagination, his squad mates managed to convince him. Max isn’t a Knight, so he has no magical equipment or spells that could help him against monsters. What he does have, however, are the sword forms he learnt at the Blade Academy. These forms are formidable martial arts that make him the match of Level 0 monsters. But Level 99 monsters? He doesn’t stand a chance.

Worthwhile
Revisado: 04-10-24
This is definitely a fantastic bargain to be had. A all in all good story, with only a couple negatives for me. The story started off strong, and continued to impress me for the most part, but it ran into the issue that most will when working with this subject matter. The pacing. It is a hard line to walk to progress the story in a way that doesn't make it overly repetitive, so it makes sense to move it along at parts, but how far in one burst was definitely a choice I wasn't a fan of. It had a couple predictable parts, though in fairness I did guess wrong on how some things would play out. A few "stupid decisions" that seems vastly put of character for "plot" reasons, but nothing excessive. Some story arcs that got too much love to have next to no pay out, and others that need better fleshing out. The narrator did an excellent job throughout, and managed to make most of the varied voices unique enough to easily discern who was speaking. Only thing I have against them is the accent choice on a few characters. All in all it was a great listen, and I will be getting the next book.

Still a great listen.
Revisado: 03-06-24
I will admit there are some negatives that the series didn't have before, some sections are rushed or glossed over, though I like the in depth dive in other areas. I didn't feel like it took too much away, but I disliked how these "overwhelmingly powerful" people in some scenes are unopposed in their power, and how in others people far below them pose a threat and fight back. One other negative is that about 4 hours of this story is just reading screens, and of that people that barely show up. Negatives aside, a fantastic read that kept me enthralled. I can't wait for the next book.

Another outstanding part
Revisado: 02-13-24
The story as a whole was fantastic, although I have to admit, there were a couple of parts that fell into a bit predictable "twists". This is a highly recommended story, though I will warn that there is going to be some time that I personally viewed as a waste of time. At several points in the story, while doing a great job at fleshing out the world as a whole, side characters that are mentioned just the once have their Stat screens read to us. The only issue I had with this is that each time it happened there was a decent amount of the same titles being read, and it took over ten minutes on each of them, so be aware that just under an hour of this audio book is stats of non main story characters, so as a whole maybe 2 1/2 - 3 hours of this story is just stat pages being read.

Zach grew in power and thrived in the post-Framework world. He became a respected leader, a shining example of what it meant to be good. But as the world ended, he had only one thought: to punish the monster that had killed the world long before the Framework ended it. Yet not even with his incredible power was he able to stand against the World Ender. His arrival in the new realty, the Infinite Realm, gives him the chance to grow stronger, to find the monster again-and make it pay.

Incredible
Revisado: 02-08-24
I went into this book with mixed feelings, but ended up being thoroughly pleased in picking it up. The moving of point of views from the past to the present, while knowing to some degree how it all ends in the past, had me frustrated beyond belief even if it served the story well in the long run. The POV change happened at times where you are hooked into what is going on, and had to deal with the annoyance of putting that story point on hold while being happy to pick up the other one. The story is incredible, being familiar to the genre in concept, yet in truth was a unique take that had me loving every word and daydreaming about the possibilities of how it can advance in pathways. I cannot recommend this enough, perfect score.
