Don't waste a credit. I saw the whole plot unfold in chapter 2. Nothing original or interesting.

I like the bones of the story but so much didn't add up. Was the husband on the phone with his wife while lying in the middle of the road? How did Kitty have the same back story as Abby? Meeting her husband also on a plane and also due to a seat mistake. How does the husband not know he's talking to his wife just because she's wearing contacts to change her eye color? How did the substitute teacher from Abby's childhood know where she lived when he attacked her on the island? Too many questions that spoiled the book for me.

Geez! You'd need to be an experienced sea captain with an advanced degree in engineering to enjoy and understand this book. So unnecessarily technical, gruelingly so. The characters were all likeable and the story was charming, but too much time spent on the minute details of assembling wooden and metal objects. As well as mind numbingly multi pages of boat and yacht geek speak. I only read it for book club and would not recommend for pleasure reading.

Narration was poor. The voice wasn't pleasing and couldn't fluctuate between characters well enough. Story was pretty easy to figure out.

Completely boring plot with even more boring characters. I thought I could soldier through it since I used a credit to listen to this book, but it was so bad I couldn't even finish it. No character was interesting enough to hold my attention and the plot was just a long, drawn out snooze fest. Too much detail about an "artist's" processes, thoughts, and discoveries. Ugh. I read 3 books a month and have read this author before and I am extremely disappointed in this book. Do Not Recomnend!

What a great book. McFadden is the queen of twists and turns and this does not disappoint! This is the best book in the series and keeps your attention from the first to the last page.

I liked the story a lot. Very detailed information about military life in Vietnam, which was great. I liked how the story followed the main character through so much of her life but this book was extremely long. There were several areas that were boring and could have been cut down though I understand the author wanted to show all facets of Frankie from her service to the PTSD to how she coped and overcame. It was a very well written book, very researched, and tied up nicely at the end.

I enjoyed this book. It's advertised as a Christian book and that honestly turned me off at first but it was a book club pick so I read it. So glad I did! The Christianity theme wasn't overdone and actually made sense in the context of the story. The story was very interesting and I liked both characters. I enjoy books in an English setting and this was one of the better ones.

I love Freida McFadden because her books are so unpredictable. I've finished the Housemaid trilogy and a few others and they are all good!

This was my least favorite book in the series. I really liked seeing Millie 10 years in the future but there wasn't a many shocking twists and turns like in her other books. And this book moved VERY slowly for the whole first half. I only finished it because I like the author so much and was invested in the characters.
