Historia
The Early Middle Ages-the years from A.D. 650 to 1000-were crucial to Europe's future social and political development. These 24 lectures trace a journey from Scandinavia across northern and central Europe to the farthest reaches of the Byzantine and Islamic empires, providing an exciting new look an era often simply called the "Dark Ages."

Great narration, entertaining history lesson
Revisado: 07-21-19
This is read by the author as a series of lectures and it is organized like all the Great Courses series. That makes it easy to get through a lot of information in a reasonable time. I like to listen while commuting as each lecture is around 45 minutes.. I like the author's voice and I like his moments of humor that enliven stories and how he lectures. He reminds me of my best university teachers. After this, I will be looking for more by the same author.

Historia
Fr. Robert Barron's comprehensive work goes straight to the core of the Catholic faith. He first examines the foundations of Christ's incarnation, life and ministry, and then works through the essentials of the Catholic tradition: from sacraments, worship and prayer, to Mary and the saints, and on to salvation, heaven and hell. Throughout this epic journey, Fr. Barron uses art, literature, personal stories, Scripture, theology, philosophy and history to present a complete picture of the Church to the world.

Enjoyable and Thorough
Revisado: 07-21-19
This is a satisfying book in many ways. It answers theological questions and it approaches the history and thinking of the Church with solid, logical explanations of certain practices. The author is narrating, which I always like, and he has a pleasing voice to listen to and is easy to follow. I am not Catholic and found this enjoyable and mind-opening.
