If you want more X-files, this is a must!
Revisado: 09-28-17
Just a shade below having full cast dramas, this is a great audiobook! Each story is about the length of an episode of tv, doesn't drag like the novel adaptations (Goblins->Skin). Most of the stories (out of 15, I believe) are well written and interesting, with only one or two being predictable or fannish. The narration alternates between a male and female, sometimes both handing off within a story. Both people do at times pretty good impersonations of Mulder, Scully, Skinner, etc. If you want more X-files, this is a must!

Historia
When moonlighting medical students harvesting skin from a corpse for temporary use accidentally take it from the wrong donor, the results are catastrophic: A New York City hospital ward is destroyed in a bloodbath, and an elderly professor, admitted for a routine skin graft, is suddenly the city's most wanted fugitive. While the police hunt the fleeing professor, Mulder and Scully track the skin that was grafted onto him, a trail that leads from the morgue to the headquarters of a cutting-edge biotech company to the jungles of Thailand.

Last of the original tie-ins
Revisado: 09-20-17
And another medical based story. Not bad, but very average and pushes believability when they are allowed to go to abroad for this case. Again, narrated rather than acted seems to drag.

Conditional praise!
Revisado: 09-10-17
This audiobook flows most like an x-files episode. Unfortunately, it is an average story dealing with themes and ideas dome better in other actual episodes. The characterizations are pretty spot on, but falls flat with narration rather than full cast.

Best original run x-files narrated
Revisado: 09-10-17
Conditional praise! The story itself is pretty engaging and fun, even if the spectacle at the end pushes the bounds of the in-universe a bit. Also, the issues of narration rather than full cast are still present making what would be an excellent adventure into a story that takes a little patience at times but is worthwhile!

Changing writers is a slight improvement.
Revisado: 09-10-17
Anderson is a little better than Grant, but not a lot. Some of the same problems are still here. Over-describing, bad impersonations/narration rather than full cast. Story is slightly moire interesting and less offensive stereotypes. Parts of it stretch the universe but not terribly so. Still hard to get through.

Historia
Serial killers come in all shapes and sizes, but this one is particularly puzzling. There's no pattern to the mutilated bodies that have been showing up in Albuquerque: The victims have been both sexes and all races, ages, and ethnic groups. There is no evidence of rape or ritual. Only one thing connects the victims: They were the victims of a natural disaster - one of the most unnatural natural disasters imaginable - leading to a most painful, most certain, and most hideous death.

Full cast would have helped!
Revisado: 09-10-17
Love the x-files, read this back in the day. The book is an over-described, average story. If it were acted out by a full cast of the original actors, it would be fair. Narrated, it is hard to get through.

The truth is still out there. The iconic hit that had millions searching for UFOs back in the 90s is now an exhilarating audio event, only from Audible. David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson reunite as FBI Special Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, joining an ensemble of original cast members in an out-of-this-world production.

Really good, could be great!
Revisado: 09-10-17
The IDW comics were pretty good and it is awesome to have 'full cast' dramas based on them. Unfortunately, they recast -spoiler- Krycheck and Mr. X. For the next installment, I hope audible can hire Lance Henrikson to reprise his role as Frank Black. If not, I'll be sorely disappointed. As for this collection of stories, it flows pretty well but sometimes like fan fiction. Because of separate recording at home instead of together, the editing is sometimes evident and the performances are sometimes (but not often) flat. Compare to the full cast audios of Big Finish. I do enjoy The X-files in this format a million times more than single narrator. Many more of these please!
