only worth it for the second story

the first story was pretty bland. the lightning Tower is definitely the highlight here. still not sure if it's worth an audible credit.

My first introduction to sigismund and I was so let down. I really expected so much after learning how awesome sigismund is. Turns out he has zero personality. The entire story boils down to "sigismund has never lost a fight" he has no interesting thoughts or ideas.

I would say that at least the first book in the HH is needed for context, otherwise this is a great prelude to the series. definitely made the word bearers a lot more fleshed out than the Saturday morning cartoon villains they were.

a wonderful story of overcoming abuse

I read this book my freshman year of high school and loved it for a few reason, now much older and listening to the book I love it for a few other reasons but whatever point of life I am in I imagine I will always enjoy this novel.

Fun, humorous, and exciting

I was not the biggest fan of mogworld, another book by this author, while I did enjoy it. I felt the hype around mogworld could in part be due to the authors internet fame. This book shows that the author would probobly have gotten a lot of fame eventually from books if he was not already fous for his internet personality.

Very funny with an intresting story

The book is absolutely hilarious and the plot gets really good in the third act. My only gripe is while the first two quarters are hilarious before the plot gets really good in the last quarter, I find myself kind of bored for a brief while until things picked back up.

Writing style takes some getting used to

the book is from the perspective of someone is in very bad company but refuses to tell of the honorable things they do to not poorly of family. lots of blanks and time skips happen. the story is good and at times I love that it doesnt go on and on about a battle they fight and just gives highlights. go into this knowing that you will need to fill in some blanks for yourself and you will be fine.

Nothing like the movie

i have never read the book as the movie was so bland i never had intrest to look into the book. this book however is amazing.

you can get rough this story very fast but its still got tons of character development and twist. i was always guessing what could possibly happen next, and while not the biggest "page turner" i was always exited for the next event.

without spoilers the story is about a man in a world with vampires, you are a few months in where all the exposition and build up is skipped as im sure most people get how vampires operate. the main charicter is slowly going crazy, the vampires try ro rrick hin into coming out due to rage or lust, and he is trying to use science to explain this supernatural event. a must read and it should be added to your collection!

A must read worth reading again

I was a little let down that this story was not as great as the first but still an amzing book better than most everything else out there. the book starts at a good pace but starts to feel like rothfus is trying to tell an extreamly large story in a super short amount of time. the locations change kinda rapidly at some point and it feels a little jarring, other than that the book is just as great as the first and left me wanting more.
