Annoying Narrator

This listen was probably the 25th time I've read this book because I love it so much. But I almost didn't finish because the narrator is SO annoying. Luke sounds high half the time; Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon all sound the same, and Percy sounds like an adult. He's 12! He should not sound like an adult. I was going to buy the entire series to listen to, but not if I have to keep listening to this guy.

A Fight For Justice Cannot Be Lost

I wish King's actual speeches were more well-known. I'm sure most people can quote those famous few lines from "I Have A Dream," but it's speeches like this that remind us who MLK really was, not just the sanitized version Memorialized in a Victor's History. I also applaud Sykes' narration. She captures his energy well.

You Can't Take the Sky from Me

There were so many things I loved about this audio book as a long time fan of the show. We got to learn more about Mal and the Shephard's pasts; being with the crew again on another adventure; seeing things from Zoe's point of view was such a delight- watching her be the BAMF we know she is was really the highlight of the book.

The narrator did a great job with the characters, especially accounting for the fact that I know I personally kept expecting to hear Nathan Fillion or Summer Glau's voice when each of the characters spoke.

What I was a bit disappointed in was the writing. There were moments when I was completely jerked out of the story because something a character did, said, or thought was so startlingly out of character. There were also moments that were just honestly ~lame~ plot wise and didn't really seem to have their consequences thought through all the way.

Overall, despite a few sour notes, I will definitely be giving this book multiple re-listens and venturing on to see what else this series has to offer. Aim to misbehave!

A Good One

I always love Agatha Christie, and this did not disappoint. But there were moments where I had to adjust the volume to understand what the narrator was saying which was irritating.

You get what you pay for

I had to read this book for a class, and I figured I'd splurge and buy the audio book since it was so cheap. While this version gets the job done, it has to be listened to sped up because of the slowness and monotone of the narrator. He was also inconsistent in his reading speed. He does do really great pirate voices though, so that's a plus.

A bit too technical

Great story, but it's written more for the math/science nuts. I was a bit bored during the descriptions of the equipment and such. I did like learning about the women, and the narrator was awesome.
