Historia
In 2059, two vastly different groups of people portrayed by the compelling trio of Brendan Fraser (Academy Award winner), Luke Kirby (Emmy Award winner), and Vanessa Sears (Dora Award winner) undergo cryonic suspension. While their bodies are frozen, their minds, still active and awake, are uploaded into a massive quantum computer. The first group are all astronauts, about to leave Earth on a one-way interstellar colonization mission. The second group consists of convicted murderers and volunteers who elect to serve their sentences in a virtual-reality prison.

Was Asimov in the room?
Revisado: 05-02-25
Fantastic reading. It had my heart pumping in a good way. Moving, brainy, good mystery, uplifting. I felt like I was reading early Asimov, clearly the intention. Well, it worked. I was enchanted - even more by the whole package than by one read element. Perfect cast for this book. A+++
Warning: now I want to break out my whole Asimov collection in order. How many redesigns have these stories endured? I went to school for science because of Asimov’s stories. His old stories had a profound effect on me. I carried the pulp magazine all tattered, on my bookcase for many years. They should come with a warning that your thinking may be changed by science
Now I have to go back on this authors’ book list to see what else I need.

The sweetness of family
Revisado: 02-26-25
I expected, well, more scariness. In reality, it is a bit humorous, certainly heartwarming and that isn’t usually my thing, yarny enough, and oh, the main character happens to be a witch.

Twists and turns with a surprise ending. What more can you want in a long rambling family history. So many startling turns. So worthwhile but pay attention. I believe this will bring you joy.

The wonderful storytelling!
Revisado: 08-19-24
I was a little daunted when I noticed the length, but by the end I was hoping for more. It wasn’t just the wonderful storyteller, it was the stories. I felt like I was IN them while learning something. Just a superb story. Thank you.

Better than most Raisin books.
Revisado: 11-02-22
Gone are the endless insecurities and it is a more confident and secure Agatha meeting challenges. And there are challenges a plenty. The book has a great pace. I tried to listen slowly in small chunks but failed terribly. The book had me on the edge of my seat. I found it delightful. I only wish this trend had happened sooner and that there were 30 more in the series. The scene with Bill Wong’s parents was so satisfying. I can’t wait to find out what happens. Best book ending in the series. Like MC Beaton on steroids with all the details right and more meat in the story.

Librarian Sylvia Ashe knows nothing about her past, having grown up without a father and a mother who refused to discuss him. When she stumbles upon a diary that suggests she's descended from magicians, she's skeptical. After all, magicians are special, and she's just an ordinary woman who loves books. She seeks answers from a member of the most prominent family of magicians, but she quickly learns that finding the truth won't be easy, especially when he turns out to be as artless as her, and more compelling and dangerous than books.

Revisado: 10-26-22
It extends the Glass and Steele stories so well that you’re halfway thru before you realize you must slow down to make the story last. And now I can’t wait for the next one to come out. Hoping for a minimum of 6 books in this vein. Thank goodness for series writers that know what they are doing.
