Historia
Curious what it would be like to walk in someone else’s (work) shoes? Join New York Times bestselling author Dan Heath as he explores the world of work, one profession at a time, and interviews people who love what they do. What does a couples therapist think when a friend asks for relationship advice? What happens if a welder fails to wear safety glasses? What can get a stadium beer vendor fired? If you’ve ever met someone whose work you were curious about, and you had 100 nosy questions but were too polite to ask … well, this is the show for you.

clever but disappointing
Revisado: 03-09-24
This had tolerable twists and turns and repetitive angst, and worst, had a horrible ending!

Ending left me hanging and frustrated
Revisado: 04-08-23
I usually enjoy Dean Koontz work, but found myself so frustrated by the end of this one. You suffer with the heroine throughout and are left hanging. Not his best.

Unbalanced views and better help is available
Revisado: 04-08-23
The first too long half of the book repeats how important the lessons of this book will be, with a premise that we currently overmedicalize the mind by making more of the biological basis for mood and thinking, rather than focusing on behavioral change. Her "5 steps of the neurocycle" - which is a way of examining, reframing and changing your behavior may be helpful, but is a lot less clear than other self-help books that more effectively and much more efficiently in teaching you to examine your thoughts and behaviors so that you choose to interact differently with the world, so your depression and anxiety are diminished. My big frustration is that she is seriously understating the value of medications PLUS therapy, and understates that in severe depression or depression in someone with what is largely biologically influenced bipolar illness cannot only be treated by training your mind. I expect a professional to be explicitly clear that sometimes medications are needed temporarily. Sometimes they are needed forever. Some biological claims seem off the wall. Get a DBT book and get right to work in a more clearly guided fashion,
